On our way to Cairo finally...our petition left NVC yesterday Jan 7, 2008 from NVC!!! Does anyone know what the average time is from returning packet 3 to an interview date???

:dance::dance::dance:

AWESOME!!! I was getting worried that you'd be held up!!!!!!

I don't know what the current times are like but for us it was within the week I think.

Don't stress out if you don't get the interview date in a week or two. I heard that was the timeline and when a month passed I started to freek out :blush: They were telling me they had recieved everything and were processing the info, and would inform me when they scheduled a date. We got it that week after I contacted my senator, but I really was worried... And of course they never contacted me again via email :lol: my SO just got the letter in the mail.

This is where my theory comes from about being sent for security checks before the interview, the "still processing the paperwork" part :unsure:

I think in your case thats exactly what happened..they sent it for name checks first...but i can't see where that's happened much before yours. But for you must have been sucha relief to get that visa so fast after interview....did you ever check to see if it was at DOS? 2.5 months before getting your packet 3 would be about the time for a security check...have to wonder...

Congratulations, Faith ! You made it ! :thumbs:

I want to say about 10 days, give or take.

Don't just open your mouth and prove yourself a fool....put it in writing.

It gets harder the more you know. Because the more you find out, the uglier everything seems.

Actually it used to happen quite often. There used to be up to a 5 month and sometimes even more wait just to get the interview scheduled. We once were talking about the possibility that now what they used to do in that time is done after the interview. When the new guy came onboard one of his "accomplishements" was to have interviews scheduled promptly. Well all he readlly did, imho, is move one chunk of time to the later stage. Nothing, imho, was really solved.

Glad to see that things are moving in your process and pray that it will be speedy from here on out. Love your name and as long as you have plenty of faith that is what matters. God is what will keep you sane through this process and as long as you lean of you faith then God will see you through this. May God touch the hearts of all who touch your case and allow His will to be done.

It was a very big relief :yes: I was all set for lots more problems with Cairo.

I know they do checks at the NVC before being sent to Cairo. But I was also under the impression that they ALWAYS send it for additional checks from high risk countries.

Our was sent to NVC, and 1 week later it was sent to Cairo. After about a month when they hadn't sent a pkt3 I emailed and they said everything was processed, and the pkt3 had been sent. It took 4 months total to get the pkt3, which only occured (by email only, by the way :angry:) after much effort. Next week returned pkt3. 1 month to get interview date. I didn't call DOS before interview bc it never occured to me it might be anywhere else but Cairo :blink:

I'm very confused as to what happened, but I'm wondering if they have changed the order of processeing?

Well we are ready to roll..He has all my information for packet 3, and will go next week for medical, police certificate, cib to pay visa fee, he has his pics and he;ll get copies made...we'll fill out the papers included with packet 3 and God willing have it returned within a day or so of recieving it. Does anyone know...do we HAVE to have all this translated into english yet?? I just pray to God we dont have long AP after the fact. Im soo hoping our 4 years together, 5 visits, stacks of emails, phone calls and written certified testimonies will help validate our relationship. I hope God will use what time we had these last 4 years for good now.
