Lawny

I dated a guy from Duncans. I think it is so beautiful and peaceful up there.

Trelawny.

No, I did not attend the interview. I wanted to fly here with him. I couldn't do both.

We came through in 2006 and things were different then. Andre actually took his NOA2 to Kingston, dropped off the DS-230, picked up the packet, and made an interview appointment the same day. Things have changed since then. I hear you have to make an appointment to even get in the embassy now and they assign dates differently.

Keep this question out there....I think it was Gill who made an appointment recently to go there and pick up the packet. She's gone right now but can probably advise when she gets back.

Thanks babes...I'm so nervous...I think I worry too much. I know things will fall into place. I just want him here.

We've all been there or are there right now. What you are feeling is natural and we all share it.

Work through it all day to day and hang in there. It will be okay.

AMEN JG!!

Ok Lawny, Once you get the NOA2...the next step is NVC...NVC then sends it to the embassy...NVC sends YOU a letter with your KNG #. Once you get that letter. Download the DS-230 and send it to Lilliput (cute :luv: Ken's in Greenwood :D ). Have Lilliput fill it out and be ready to go! DON'T wait til he actually gets packet #3 (the DS-230 is in that packet). After you get the NVC letter wid your KNG #. Send an email directly to the embassy (with your KNG# in the title) ask them if there is anyway possible your fiance can drop off the DS-230? They SHOULD send you an email back with a date and time for him to take it in. This way you can jump the gun on getting an interview date.

I hope this all makes sense. If not PM me and I will break it down futher when I get back!

Blessed love always,

Gill

Good morning,

Just wanted to say THANKS to all those that replied to my post yesterday. This is a vaulable website and I feel like park of the family already.

(1) How long did many of you know your fiance or fiancee before starting the filing process (K-1)?

(2) My fiancee was arrested a few years ago, but was never charged with anything. Both parties that were involved agreeged to stay away from each other. He was never fingerprinted, but had to appear before a magistrate. He's being advised not to discolse this, but I think he should. An arrest means that you were detained for a certain period of time, even if you were not charged with a crime. (Maybe I'm wrong, but that's how I understand it).

(3) He lives in Montego Bay...is it better for him to do his physical in Kingston or in Montego Bay. I have a few friends who had problems with the results getting back from MoBay in time for the interview.

Thanks,

Trelawny

Big up all my MARYLANDERS and those from Washington, D.C. (EAST COAST) filers.

Regarding the arrest, I would advise you to get his police record and see if it appears on it. If it DOESN'T

DO NOT, DO NOT disclose it.

The embassy will use any excuse to deny him, trust me.

Mobay should be fine, not really heard of people having problems.

I am in MAryland too!!

Would be nice to link up :)

I ve known my fiance since I was 11(1981).I used to babysit him.

You would be better off to be honest with them because the FBI will investigate this anyway.

I'm not sure.I know that in Panama, the private clinics can produce results quicker. They also charge more.

Big up all my MARYLANDERS and those from Washington, D.C. (EAST COAST) filers.

Yeah, I know a few people from Jamaica who got stuck during the K1 process. Their applications got stuck for 6-9 months.

We also had a FBI check during the AOS process. I have no idea why because I have a top secret clearance with the gov'ment. I had to add Damien to my clearance when we were engaged because he wasn't a US citizen. It took Damien over a year to get his conditional green card. We had to pay for two EADs so he can continue to work  .

1) My husband and I knew each other for 8years and 8 months before we applied. But as you can see many people only new their SO for a year or months.

2) If there wasn't anything written on his record he should not have a problem with his police record.

3) My husband lived in Montego Bay and he did his medical there and had no problem

I attended his interview and it was really easy. I preferred to do that than to come down to Jamaica and fly with him here. We flew from Montego Bay to Kingston together. This was his first flight. I showed him what he need to know on that short flight. So he was ready to fly to Chicago.

All the best with your visa!!

Yeah I've read on VJ bout people being stuck in FBI checks. I don't know what the reasons for them are. I hope I don't get in that. Hubby's last name is probably one of the most common names in the US so hopefully he'll slide right through.
