Hello everyone..

Congratulations to everyone who just got approved recently. I hope you will get your visas right away.

I just want to share here what I'm feeling right now. It sucks to wait for so long and only God knows until when...but being a human being, its just not that easy to keep on being patient. Sometimes we loose ourselves and might breakdown. I've already shared my experience before in my previous posts but I'd just like to share again. I don't think anyone else has gone through what I'm experiencing right now with regards to my visa delay at the USEM.

I have called several times already, even Grace is familiar with my voice and case. I'm just disappointed that she kept telling me before to call next week..then the next...and didn't say exactly when the officer will get back from the holidays. Sophia told me this week though when I called 1st week of January. Then its just yesterday that the officer got back. According to them and from the letter I received, they are asking for my 2002 passport as additional requirements. I've submitted that already and they got it last December 17. Imagine how long I had to wait and still waiting till now for the final approval and visa release. I just don't understand why they asked for it after the interview and not during the interview...Grace said today, it depends on the officer and case to case basis coz they can do random checks, etc. During the interview, they only asked for my 2004 student visa/passport coz that's the document that is beneficial to my case being a former student in the US and that's how i met my fiancé. I just feel very unlucky to be going through this. I have to keep postponing my tickets (but with no penalty) because of the horrible waiting game. Grace told me today that once my case will be approved by officer, it will take about 2 weeks for me to receive it. I asked why other people here in Cebu also, get it 3 days after interview. She said, wow, that's super fast. Grrr..I pray that it will be approved this week already. My documents are complete even during the interview. I just spent 5 mins with the consul and told me you're approved after answering his easy questions. I didn't expect that everything will turn out like this. Sigh..but I know God has a plan for me and He knows I can go through this. I need to be strong and keep the faith. This journey is never easy. I pray for everyone going through the visa process won't encounter much hardships...the long distance alone is already enough for 2 people who are deeply in love.

God bless to all VJers.

DeeZee

Dezee, you are not alone. My kababayan who was interviewed a day after me is still there because of problems regarding her name and the USEM is making further investigations. Her fiance, our friend here in Florida has already sought the help of his congressman and senator but they couldnt do much because of the policy. Its frustrating and I can feel his pain everytime he calls us to update their situation. He is flying to the Philippines come 21st to visit her again to ease the loneliness. So hang in there and keep the faith.

Our prayers are with you.
