I received my NOA1 today (Feb.5, 2008).

My envelope showed it was mailed out Jan.31, 2008.

Also, for everyone wondering, I got sent to Vermont Service Center from the Chicago Lockbox. I'm in Georgia.

Also, they have a received date of Dec.11, 2007 (the date they received it at the lockbox) and Jan.31, 2008 as the notice date (I assume the date it was entered in the system).

Hope this helps everyone.

I am going to send off my I-129F tomorrow (hey, it's free,...why not. lol)

Free or not cant it conflict with other paperwork and slowdown the process, arent 129's cancelled?

btw since u got your case number, can you check up the status online now or not?

The receipting page on USCIS is USELESS!! we were received November 11th and still no NOA. gee, i am no Doctor but i think November 11 comes before the posted date of December 27th.....oh wait i am a doctor!!! [expletive], useless, lazy government employees!!

Ralu, no i don’t think so. i sent my I-130 alone too as stated in the instructions. Some people send them together... even though there is no official documentation stating to do so.

it clearly states you should have I-130 NOA1 before submitting I-129F. Am i reading the instructions incorrectly? plz help??

I did the same thing - both forms together to Chicago ... Only thing is, they supposedly don't touch 129F's at the lockbox, so if they send it to VSC (in my case) it won't be "with" the 130 and probably get bounced back to me lol ... I hope I'm COMPLETELY wrong and they touch them together and put them both in the system - then I don't care if they get split up...

I hope we both get this to work out for us! My petitions were received on 1/17/08 but no check cashed so far

Actually HERE IS A QUESTION FOR EVERYONE:

How do I find out what's up with my case - I called USCIS and the "OFFICER" my call was bumped up to apparently didn't have anything better to do than to be nasty ... I kept asking her if she could check on a case number for me but she kept saying until my check is CASHED I don't have a case number - I told her that the online system was telling me that Chicago was already entering/issuing NOAs for forms received 2 weeks past the date when mine was received ... she apparently thought that what I was saying to her about the online info had NOTHING TO DO with my application actually being ENTERED ... that makes no sense?!?!?!?! Is she clueless, or am I?

No don't worry the rules still say to file the I-130 and then file the I-129F afterwards. Some people (like my family) were told by an immigration officer to file both applications together. There are a few of us in the February 2008 filers thread who were told to do it that way. I don't think there is anything wrong with the way you filed. I honestly have no idea why we were told to fly like that, we called regarding a separate matter and that's what we were told to do. Good luck to you all, I'm sure we'll be getting some good news soon!!

if it makes you feel any better my husband called a couple days ago...was put through an automated system for 30 mins and then put on hold for about an hour and finally when the person picked up he asked them a question the person said "um...." and then hung up on him. needless to say he was not amused!
