Maybe I'm missing something, but according to what I have read about the NOA2 and it's 4-month valid time peroid, is almost everyone must be having to send in an extension letter for another 4-months? Because I check the timelines, and it seems very few people are getting their interview within the 4-month time period--and yet I don't see any item in their timeline list about sending in an extension letter (example here): http://www.***removed***/visas/kvisa/i-129f...on-request.html

My fiance is waiting for her Packet from the consulate in Guangzhou, China. It's supposed to arrive soon, but I am wondering if there really is any chance she may get her visa before April 9, 2008, when the I-797C is said to expire.

I just wonder if I misread something, or there is something else I am not taking into consideration. Any feedback would be appreciated. :)

Gunagzhou will extend the validitiy of the I-129F NOA2 letter, they NEVER interview for K-1 within the 4 months of that letter, dont worry about it.

Once petition leaves NVC, it WILL take 3-4 months for Gunagzhou to "receive" the petition.

A few things, PLEASE update your profile to show Country, and what you filed for: N/A is not a country, and there is no visa called N/A.

Also start a timeline. :time:http://www.visajourney.com/timeline/profile.php?id=43625

Lastly, I highly recommend that you Join and use "A Candle for Love" there is no better immigrations site to prepare you for the interview in China. The FAQ, and interview questions list there is second to NONE. There is a forum there that has a consular officer at the consulate that answers general questions that you can use as a valuable reference.

Thanks for the information. I will try to do that timeline thingie later. Right now i am trying to make sure my documents are in order and gather the necessary things to complete the I-134. I just don't want to screw anything up or have any "unecessary surprises."

I-134 is not needed when filing the I-129F, it is needed much later around P3 time, so when your fiancee gets packet 3 from the consulate, then gather up the required financial evidence and get the I-134 notarized and send it over to her for the interview.

One thing about I-134, the directions included with I-134 are very old, USCIS has no reason to update them since USCIS has no application for that form.

The consulates tend to treat the I-134 like a mini-I-864 as so prefer the same financial evidence as the I-864.

In our case this what the I-134 included.

  • I-134 signed and notarized.

  • SIMPLE Tax transcripts from the IRS for past 3 years, (Redundant for the (1040,W2,1099) but are free from the IRS http://www.irs.gov/faqs/faq1-6.html

  • Photo copy of IRS form 1040, and W2s for past 3 years (Not necessary if you provide the transcripts)

  • Letter from my employer stating annual salary, job responsibility, and that is full time, on company letterhead.

  • Photo copies of past month or so of pay stubs up to a few weeks before the interview.
My income was well above the povertyline so I did not include any asset data (LIKE BANK STATEMENTS or property values).

If your income exceeds 125% of the povertyline when counting yourself, prospective immigrant and any dependents, then don't bother with assets (401K, Bank balance, Stocks etc..), it is just extra un-needed data to provide, the consular officer is most concerned with INCOME.

Thanks. I guess the FAQs I've read seem to suggest you need to have the I-134 already filled out by the time P3 arrives. I just don't want to delay anything--it's bad enough you have to wait this long...

It takes GUZ 1 month to process the P-3 paperwork return to them by fiancee, and interview tends to be a month after they send out P-4, so you have 2 months or so to get I-134 to your fiancee for the interview.
