Assembling I-751 package

Hey all,

My wife and I are putting together the I-751 application, and had a few questions we hoped you could answer -

1) I take it USCIS prefers paper clips to staples? And when we're paper-clipping, should all the evidence be lumped together, or should we break it down by similar sections (so clip tax returns together, apartment lease together, checking accounts, but separate from each other)?

2) We're including copies of boarding passes - should we write on the photocopies what these trips were exactly (trips to see our parents), or just list the flights on the cover letter?

3) We're also including copies of Christmas cards, birthday cards, etc. - again, should we write on the photocopies who these are from (my folks, my in-laws), or just list them as "Assorted cards 2006-2007" in the cover letter?

I realize how these copies are set out shouldn't matter all that much, but I just want to keep the application as neat as possible! I would be most grateful for any help/comments :)

1) Not a good idea to staple.

In preparing your packet, please take note of the following:
  • Do not use binders or folders that cannot be easily disassembled.

  • Use ACCO fasteners to hold together thick or bulky applications or petitions. Two-hole punching the top of the material for easy placement in the file is appreciated.

  • The use of tabs assist in locating items listed as attachments. The tabs should be placed on the bottom and not the side for ease in filing.

  • Avoid using heavy-duty staples; instead use ACCO fasteners or heavy clips.

  • Avoid submitting originals unless specifically required. Avoid submitting oversized documentation when possible.

i organized my evidence into categories, and included a cover sheet for each category listing each piece of evidence within that category. I identified or explained some evidence on the copy itself or on the category cover sheet. I clipped everything together with a large binder clip with my overall cover letter and cheque on top.

I made a mistake with the initial filing so when the packet came back it was held together with USCIS provided ACCO fasteners. I would recommend using them to bind the packet.
