Not good. Is there anyway to take your husband's name and have your passport changed?

Actually,

I signed my marriage certificate with my maiden name too. Here there isn't a law forcing me to take his name so I don't think it mattered. The official copy that I got from the State also shows both of our names and stating that we are married. However, with the certificate showing that was married, I was able to change my name on other documents. Maybe I am lucky or Nevada wanted it that way. Don't remember.

I did the same thing in FL. When I signed the certificate, I wasn't married yet - why would I sign with my married name?

India may be different but every no marriage certificate I've ever seen had the bride's name signed with the husband's surname. So, I wouldn't worry about it.

When I apply for my marriage licence , they asked me after marriage what our names would be & I told them PADMINI DASRAT & RAMDATT DASRAT but instead I sign PADMINI RAMNAUTH which is my maiden name :crying: I screw up big time , my love is angry at me because of the mistake I made , I had no idea I did that until today when I got my certified copy of marriage certificate , I only hope there is a way for me to change it asap , we got marry at the courthouse by a Judge , I'm not sure if he will do over my marriage certificate for me but tomorrow I will make contact with him cause I need to file AOS before my K1 Expires :crying:

File AOS in your married name.

You are fine.

You are still married. You can assume your husbands name at any time. You have the certificate, that is the proof you are married.

We do understand you. It is not a problem. Your marriage certificate says Padmini Ramnauth married Husband Dasrat.

What you need is your petition filed with your married name shown and you need a new passport in your married name. The marriage certificate is NOT a problem.
