YAYYYY Packet 3 came, Vancouver interview question

YAAAAAAYYYYYYYYY Packet3 came today for me in the mail!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Okay, so here is my situation, and would like feedback from you fellow canadians.

I have everything that is required on the checklist that came with packet3, except the medical exam. I booked an appointment with Dr. Chana for the 24th of January. My question is, If i write on the packet3 checklist that im requesting an interview sometime in mid febuary, how good are they about keeping the date?

Heres my dilemma, i have everything ready, except for the medical.. im wondering if i should just send back the packet3 and request a date in feb (when i know i'll have the medical exam in my hand) that way i can get the soonest possible date (after my requested deadline of anything after mid feb)... or should i wait till i have had at least the medical apt done then send it back, but then i run the risk of delaying my interview even more

Since i closed the window, i cant edit my post.. i just wanted to clarify that my MAIN concern is if i send the packet3 back now and request for a mid to late feb interview date, they will give me an interview before the medical exam is even done.

I only know what I have read (and I think you are safer requesting the mid-feb interview) but anyway I'm sure some K visa folks will come along with their personal experience

so that means i only have to have the appointment scheduled, right? and not actually have to have it in hand when i complete this checklist

I know the k-1 is not an immigration visa, and i was reading the packet3 more and came upon the OF-167 form.. it says "this document must be read and signed by persons wishing to submit an offidavit of support on half of an alient applying for an immigrantion visa"

i know k-1 is not immigration, but should my fiance and the cosponsor fill it out just in case?

Yes many just arrange to have it completed, then mail it in requesting a date!! You dont have to have the medical already completed!

Yes, you only need to have it scheduled.

Why don't you phone the doctor and see when the next available date is and then request a date at the consulate AFTER that date. I say this because the doctor that did my medical only did immigration physicals on certain days which I think was 2 half days a week, thus, it might take a few weeks to get in.

Again, like everyone else, you only need to have booked it before returning your package 3.

I remember when we filled K1 , I wasnt able to request an interview date at all , I went to get medical when I had package 3 , send package 3 back without medical , when they send package 4 it was basicaly the interview date they provided , at the interview I had to bring the medical with me , ( a envelope that you cant open at all )

but wow things must have changed , didnt know your able to request for a interview date with K1 now , but am happy for you and good luck

Van appears to be a bit more accommodating than Mtl! 1 would think they would mirror each other, but nope!!

I had my medical done on Jan 3rd and my medical package is ready for pick up today. So...if i was you I would ask for first available interview because they are probably scheduling for feb anyways right now or if you want to be on the safe side ask for an interview after Feb 1st. It takes about 5 days to get your medical results.
