Does NOA1 have correct receipt # for Online Status Inquiry?

I got the NOA1 today from the VSC saying they rcvd. the $545 check I sent along with the 50+ pgs of evidence. I tried looking up the case status online using the receipt # I have (starting with EAC-08-XXX-XXXXX), but got an error msg reading the following:

"Case Status Retrieval Failed

This Receipt Number cannot be found at this time in this automated system. Please check your case receipt number to see if it is correct. If you have questions or concerns about your case status, please contact the National Customer Service Center."

Has anyone else had a similar experience? Or do I have to wait for the ASC appt notice until we can track the status online? Also, anyone know how long it takes from the VSC to send the ASC appt after NOA1?

You have to type the number this way: EAC08XXXXXXXX the combination of letters and numbers all together.

It took 2 weeks for my case to appear online after I got the NOA. They aren't very quick with many things

Claudeth's NOA came on the 27th of December and the number still isn't found in their system. Someone said you won't be able to monitor until the biometrics letter is received. I just checked again and still nothing! Guess it is another waiting game.

please check the last paragraph in your NOA it states that you can check your status online when you get your appointment with ASC and you will use that no. to check your case online. That was stated in my NOA.

They have not updated the system for last three weeks as far as entering new data entry from the NOA1's - is it not an error on your part, its just part of their delay in trying to get sorted somehow,

They said three to four weeks to get caught up ....coughs....spits furball at USCIS.

We were not able to look up the case online until we got our biometrics notice. That had an application number that is different than the receipt number. That seems to be the one to use.
