He got an e-mail yesterday, and I hope it means his visa will be here when I get home today!!!

I hope so too! When do you guys plan on making the flight now? soon?

I wish it were that simple...he's staying over there until he pays off some bills; he probably won't be here until late June/early July...I just hope it's sooner!!!

I'm in the same boat as Darren, I have a few bills to pay before I can leave, plus I want a bit of cash to bring with me so I can buy a car. I'll be leaving late July.

However, isn't it nice to know that he CAN come when he wants to now?

I wonder what they would do if he didn't pay - since they wont know where he is!

5th February 2008 - I-129F forms sent for K1 visa (VSC)

26th March 2008 - NOA2 recieved via email

19th May 2008 - Interview............APPROVED!!!!!!

21st May 2008 - Visa in hand

29th July 2008 - POE

2nd September 2008 - Married

19th September - Mailed AOS/EAD/AP to Chicago lockbox

25th September - Check cashed $1010.00 (OUCH!!)

29th September - Received NOA's for AOS/EAD/AP

13th October - AOS Petition transferred to CSC!!!

17th October - Biometrics (Tampa Office)

17th October - AOS/EAD Touched

20th October - AOS Touched

21st October - AOS Touched

6th November - AOS/EAD/AP Touched (probably due to change of address)

10th December - EAD approved

28th January 2009 - GC approved without interview. Done with all this till 2011!!!!!!!!

I asked Damian what they would do if he didn't pay.. and he said if he ever wanted to go back his credit would be horrible and collection agencies will eventually find him and most likely add fees.

I wanted Damian home the week after he got his visa but we agreed right when we got our NOA2 that the earliest he could come home was the end of May so we stuck with it. now its just over a week away. I can't believe how fast time is flying!

But I do agree it's nice knowing he could come home whenever he wants and not have to worry about customs!

Good Luck at your Interview tomorrow! i'll be anxious to hear from you!!

Different states have different rules regarding drivers license. NC will issue one, but it will expire when the K-1/I-94 expires ....

I tell ya, the process afterwards doesn't seem to get much better! Other than you can deal with it together

You mean then you're stuck being unable to drive until the AOS is completed, which could take quite a while? Or am I getting mixed up with something else which takes a while. There's so much information to remember and keep track of, I'm getting all mixed up

look into your states rules cause in PA.. He can't get a license on the K-1 until we're married. but he can drive on his international license plus an international drivers permit for up to a year. and I don't drive but we have a car of our own. so our car is under my mum's insurance and with her permission her car insurance covers him driving.

The insurance company said he could get his own insurance but the DMV said he can't have a title until he has his PA license so theres no need for his own insurance until he has a PA license.
