It is, thanks - although roll on the weekend - I have some sleep to catch up on!

I see you're waiting on an interview date, too - hope that comes quickly for you!

So how are all of the Vermont filers doing with regards to packing and preparing to leave your country? Have you already started to ship/sell items or are you waiting until you have your Visa in hand? How much are you shipping?

Darren is waiting until he has his visa in hand before he starts the ball rolling to move (selling his car and motorcycle, telling his job, etc.)...he's the practical one. Me, on the other hand, want him on a plane as soon as it's delivered!!!

Awesome - I was wondering if I should have started sorting my possessions out already but I'm glad to hear I'm not the only one who's waiting!

I'd love to be on a plane as soon as I have my visa but I have a feeling I'm going to have to be more practical about it, too! But it must be a very frustrating time for the USC - while the beneficiary is so busy with packing, selling, telling people and closing down all accounts/contracts the USC just has to wait and be patient!

Sally - I'm not taking any furniture either, and I don't have many shoes, but I do have a lot of books and DVDs and I'm wondering how much of that I can feasibly ship! I did think about shipping my PC but decided I'd be better off selling it and buying a new one (with a US-compatible power supply, of course). Do you know how to disassemble a computer? I've heard so many horror stories of trying to ship one (parts being shaken loose and destroying the innards) that I'd recommend packing each piece in its own box with lots of bubble-wrap!

The shipping company I am going to use has a special box to pack the tower, thats all im taking, going to get a new screen once i get there, this pc is relatively new and very high spec so I want to take it, I will get it converted over once im there if it doesnt work on the usual travel plugs.

Jay wants my there like yesterday, but he understands that I have lots to sort out, and a house to empty. He said also that if i dont get my visa he will just move over here and we will get him a visa for the uk, that made me very happy to hear that.

Hello

Even though they have special boxes for the tower, it would probably be better to disassemble what is inside the tower as Rachel said (at least I think that's what she meant) if you don't want anything inside damaged.. The tower is kind of like a box with a few parts, several wires and some empty space. It's going to move a lot... :S Of course that's easier to do if you know how to assemble it again or if you know someone who can do it for you.
