Yes, we could be neighbors soon . My tarheel prince said he's already looking into shirts for me, one with confederate flag on it or a shirt that says "I AM A REDNECK GIRL", i guess he just want to rub it on me .... he is really crazy sometimes but i love him so much and when he uses that 'totally redneck accent" (that is what he calls it), i just die laughing, it is way too funny.

Mmmm, sounds like a southerner through and through. I won't hold it against him. According to him, I'd be a Yankee. I was born in the midwest, but I moved to this area when I was 13. I've left a few times on my career path, but somehow ended up back again :) And yes, the southern accents, I've had some good laughs over it too. But then again, mine has me laughing most of the time with his UK accent. And the word choices ...

least i be misunderstood, i know not everyone in the south are rednecks and i think those rednecks jokes are just that, "jokes"... it is the same way, here in my place, Filipinos from other regions always use our diction here when they want to make a character the butt f joke in the movies.. but people from my region don't really take those seriously. we always know better... the same way, me and my fiance just laugh about redneck jokes, he even says he is a redneck sometimes ("here's the sign")... but it doesn't really affect him in any negative way.

Oh by no means was I implying anything bad. Southern men are gentleman at best ;) After living in the south for 20 years and being surrounded by them, and having many of them as friends, I wouldn't want it any other way. I have no complaints about "rednecks" or southerners. I can't say a thing, I managed to pick up a southern accent living here for so long. Most of my family back in the midwest calls me a redneck now!!! Like you ... to me it's all a joke (as you said)!

In the end, none of these such things matter. What matters is you found each other!! And soon, you'll be in the same place!!!!

Oh, I love his british accent. But there is no way I'd knock the charm of a southern accent. As for the formal bit, that's what goes on with us too. I'm much more laid back in terminology ... commonly American! He's much more "proper" :)

And exactly, what can ya do? Last I knew, we can't always control who we fall in love with ...
