don't worry, there are a lot of cases here which were never touched till the day they were approved.

the irony of this is, you guys who don't get touches worry why you don't get touched, while us who have been getting touches are also worrying that they might be finding something wrong with out papers that is why it is generating so much attention  .. that's the beauty of life.

Anyweiz, now that we've seen the first december filer get approved, lets have faith that we will be seeing January approvals before March ends.

Somebody probably came in and had to make up a day to get Presidents day. I guess they decided to work on your case in the weekend;)

Just courious does getting touched mean something will happen soon?? Does anyone know from experience. Or does it mean its just going from one pile to the next.

There are more and more decembers getting their NOAA2. Hopefully maybe we will luck out and start getting some january filers going.

I wish speed and lots of luck to everyone.

Just was linked to a great post...by a poster named HUSKERKIEV...it's called "1st post former NSC adjudicator now petitioner"...it certainly explains a lot of the murkiness of this process...

On another note...do you think some (certainly not all or most) of the more established members on the site belittle our uneasiness and confusion? I sometimes don't post because I don't want to be "zinged"

I simply had a question about being or not being touched and I got this response: "Yes, you should be worried that you do not have enough patience to survive this process."

Maybe it was said in a joking manner, but I was just asking people who obviously had more experience than me if the touching or lack of touching was something to worry about...I will be much quieter on that thread in the future...guess I should stick with you guys, since you are my "own kind."

Thanks for listening to me rant...

I could understand how your feeling <BIG HUG>.

BTW, have you checked the UNITED KINGDOM thread? its on one of the regional forums here on VJ... since your fiance is from UK, you'll surely find helpful infos there, especially on issues specific to embassy in UK.

And our January thread members will always be here to give comfort and encouragement to each other. We're all in the same boat, so we might as well sing the same song.

Yes, we January people have to stick together :D

At least I know why I was touched - to change my name. I'm guessing the first touch (on the 13th) was them pulling my file out and the second touch (the 14th) was them putting it away again. How boring! But at least I'm not worrying about RFEs - yet!

As it is understandable that we, newbies, have many questions, it is also understandable that they are tired of answering the same things again and again. They have probably answered the questions we ask 10 or 20 times. Of course, that doesn't give anyone the right to belittle (yeah I just learned a new word!) anybody. if they are tired of answering the same questions, then they should just skip such topics. :P

But usually you can get most answers by using the search options. I know I've found lots of information using it.

One of the things I learned in reading the postings is that this is a long and for many a frustrating experience. There are many filers from August and September that are waiting, there are even 6 from July still waiting at CSC. I think these people get frustrated and short with people, that have active filings for only a short time, talking about what a touch means - when there really is no way of knowing. I don't excuse the rudeness of the comment, I'm just trying to understand the reasons for it. As newbies we have to recognize that this is a long process, that at this point is completely out of our hands. I think it is quite possible to drive oneself to distraction (or in this case rudeness) if we do not. Four months from now, when we are all wise and battle scared, and a person who has just filed begins speculating on the unknowable, let's all show patience and class and support the newbies. The greatest thing about this site is the opportunity we have to give and receive support from people going through the same process. I'm rooting for everyone here - Good Luck and a speedy process to all January filers.

And So It Begins......
