Hi everyone,

Today i got the Packet 3 from the consular section of the US Embassy of Tunis.

it contains the following items:

* Form DS-230 Part I, Part II and Part III.

* Form DS-156K

* Form DS-2100

* Form 41.81 - EXHIBIT IV SUPPLEMENT TO FORM OF-156

* Instruction and checklist of documents to prepare (birth certificate, police certficate...)

I have tried to contact the embassy by email and phone but there's no one to give me anwers: :help:

My questions are:

1- What forms should i send back to the embassy now?

2- The forms i have received are outdated (expired) could i download the new forms the web and send them instead of the ones the embassy gave me?

3- Forms Ds-2100 is used tp tell the embassy that i was ready for the interview, my police certificate was not ready, should i send the DS-2100 now with packet 3 forms or wait until i get my certificate?

4- Should i ask my fiancé to send me the I-134 now or wait until i get the interview from the US embassy?

Thank u for yrour answers :)

1- The instruction and Checklist document should tell you.

2- Yes you can download newer ones from DOS website which will allow you to fill them out on computer and print them out. OR You can use the ones they sent you. Consulates accept older versions without question.

3- Some send it now if they know that they should have police cert in time for interview.

4- Prepare the I-134 now, and if interview falls after April 15, I would have US citizen send a copy of 2007 IRS return to attach to the I-134.

One thing about I-134, the directions included with I-134 are very old, USCIS has no reason to update them since USCIS has no application for that form.

The consulates tend to treat the I-134 like a mini-I-864 as so prefer the same financial evidence as the I-864.

In our case this what the I-134 included.

  • I-134 signed and notarized.

  • SIMPLE Tax transcripts from the IRS for past 3 years, (Redundant for the (1040,W2,1099) but are free from the IRS http://www.irs.gov/faqs/faq1-6.html

  • Photo copy of IRS form 1040, and W2s for past 3 years (Not necessary if you provide the transcripts)

  • Letter from my employer stating annual salary, job responsibility, and that is full time, on company letterhead.

  • Photo copies of past month or so of pay stubs up to a few weeks before the interview.
My income was well above the povertyline so I did not include any asset data (LIKE BANK STATEMENTS or property values).

If your income exceeds 125% of the povertyline when counting yourself, prospective immigrant and any dependents, then don't bother with assets (401K, Bank balance, Stocks etc..), it is just extra un-needed data to provide, the consular officer is most concerned with INCOME.

Thank u for ur fast answer.

I have to clarify something about the instruction the have send to me:

- They do not contain any information about what to do and when to send the forms

DS-156K, the DS-2100 and Form 41.81 - EXHIBIT IV SUPPLEMENT TO FORM OF-156.

- The instruction are dated on january 2004, they have scratched the "evidence of support" section with a pen the y just left "the us consular section will provide further information concerning any additional financial evidence that may be required".

I'm wondering a country that claim to be the most advanced in technology still using obsolete document and was unable to provide basic way of communication with the public.

Most consulates want you to return the checklist, DS-230, and some want the DS-156 and DS-156K also.

Do the web based DS-156, it generates a special barcode on page 3 which contains all data entered on page 1 and 2.

https://evisaforms.state.gov/

Do not sign the DS-156 or DS-230 part 2

Hi Zipper,

Do you have a soft copy of forms DS-2100 and 41.81 EXHIBIT IV SUPPLEMENT TO FORM OF-156? I can't find the most current version online on any official government websites.

Also are you sure that form DS-230 has a Part III? I found Part I and II but not Part III.

If you have these forms in soft (electronic) format, would it be possible for you to attach them to your next reply?

Thanks in advance for your reply.
