Be careful with JC, parts of it can be very shady.

We heard there was some good development near a couple of the PATH stops or something? I'm still pretty uninformed. All I know is that there aren't broker fees and the apartments look way nicer and much much cheaper.

Yeah stay near the PATH stops. And trust your gut. If you want to live in Jersey and commute, check out Hoboken, it's nicer (IMO).

Is there PATH there and stuff, or what's the deal?

@Mark: we're also looking into BK/Queens... my preference would be moving somewhere around Park Slope TBH.

Well, I don't know how much she's paying now and for what... so I don't know if Hoboken will end up being a better value for her. Doesn't hurt to check out, rents in the general area have slipped some recently.

I don't think I could ever 'do' Jersey. I just can't.

I can't figure out what Craigslist neighborhood "code names" mean Hoboken other than, well, Hoboken. So I can't tell what the full price range is. But Rey has the idea that we should try to spend less than $2,000/mo on an apartment.

Ask on city-data.com's New Jersey forum.
