Fees at the embassy are $131.

Whew! Thank you! I was looking at the following website:

http://abuja.usembassy.gov/immigrant_fees.html

and I thought it was the $355 plus $45 security fee.

Anybody know what the average medical is costing?

Thanks for your help!

The medical costs around 18,000 naira close to that. I think you pay 10,000 naira your first visit and then when you go back in two weeks you pay 8,000 naira. I think like $150.00 should cover everything. Please someone correct me if I'm wrong my husband says he can't remember exactly but this should be close.

That is for immigrant visas. The K is a nonimmigrant visa so it is $131 (just went up, used to be $100).

Thank you! Can anyone tell me.... can my fiance schedule his interview and his medical prior to receiving packet 3? Also, I just learned today that our petition is in AP at NVC, did anyone else have this happen?

Thanks

Wow, there is someone who I haven't told I'm in AP at NVC. I must be slacking. Please, let me invite you to my pity party!

They told someone on the NVC forum (Jennifer I think was her name) that it takes 4-6 weeks. I don't know if that's true, but I'm holding on to every little scrap of hope. She got out of AP after 6 weeks. One very pleasant fellow told me that it's a random security check. So, I didn't win the lotto but I won the NVC draw for AP.

I know how you feel. I filed for the K1 visa in June and it took them pretty close to six months before they approved me with no RFE or anything, just slow to look at my file it seems. Then I know that I'm going to have to wait a long time for the interview in Ghana because those are being scheduled way out. I was sideswiped by the AP at NVC. I didn't even it was a possibility so I wasn't emotionally prepared for another road block. But I don't have much choice but to wait and try to be as patient as possible. I keep having these meltdowns. But I have to keep focused on God and try to stay positive for my SO as well. I don't want to stress him out with worrying about me worrying about this process. We can go through it together and luckily my sub-saharan friends listen to me vent and don't even call me names. to my face?

Thank you for the support! I finally had a meltdown tonight, called my SO crying like a big baby. Now I feel like a big dope because now he's worrying about me half way around the world and can't do a thing not to mention I woke him up (3:00 a.m.) there and he probably won't be able to sleep another wink now! I thank God that I have the most precious man in the world! :) .
