I have a couple of questions regarding Form G-325A for AOS

Sorry if my questions are not very intelligent, I hope someone can enlighten me:

I didn't change my name after divorcing my first husband, or marrying my second ( new) husband. WHat should we write where it asks for wife's family name? Only my maiden name, even if I only use my ex husband's last name?

I have a second question that I am sure has been asked before: What is the Alien Registration Number? Is it the same as the File Number From I-94 ? or should we answer "none"?

Thank you all so much for your help

Are the "file number" and the Alien registration number the same thing? Apparently, according to your answer and normal instincts, they are, but why don't they just use the same name for the same thing? And what is the visa number? When I look at the K1 visa I see a "control Number", and then another number in red, close to the bottom after the date of clearance received. Is the control number the same as the visa number? If it is the same thing, Why don't they call it visa number? This is giving us a headache and we are just starting ....

As far as your name you should write the name that you plan to use. If you are still using your old name and then put that one. If you plan to use your new married name (you'll have to wait to have it updated at the Social Security to have it on most papers) then use your new married name.

Thank you for your answer, but my problem is that the form asks for my family name, but it says that in the case of a wife (me) it should be my maiden name. The problem is that I still use my first husband's family name ( I used it throughout this process) and I don't see a place where they ask me for it. In a few words, will it be ok if I just write my maiden name and ignore the fact that I use my ex husband's last name everywhere else?

I had the same trouble with all the numbers

you can find the answer in my post http://www.visajourney.com/forums/index.ph...c=96485&hl=

Thank you, it was very helpful
