I was lucky to be able to bring my daughter to work 2 days a week (I could have brought her everyday if I had wanted to)....until she got too mobile.

I brought her playgym, bouncy seat etc and she just hung out with me.

I worked for a very family friendly social service agency, and my boss was a great guy.

When she got really mobile it no longer worked, but it helped me SO much when i went back to work to be able to have her with me a couple of days. My heart was breaking to leave her.

Now, thankfully, my husband got a better job, so I'm home with her.

It was hard, but thank God, I had great support.

That's great. I was wondering what kind of circumstances would make it workable. Going back to work, after having a baby has got to be the most difficult thing to do. (F) My brother and his wife are both working professionals, and she went back to work after a couple of months, but they had to find a nanny. I'm hoping that my wife will not try to work again at least until our baby is 6 months old. :)

OMG sounds AWFUL. Like being trapped in coach with screaming babies, except, hello, it's your work life. Children do NOT belong at work.

I agree. I find nothing more off putting or distracting than a screaming or gurgling child. I wonder if companies who allow this will pay for the blood pressure medication that the rest of the workforce there would require....

I think they allow the staff on all the airlines to bring them to work. There's always at least one of them screaming in my ear. Oh wait. Maybe that was me.

Thank God my co-workers were VERY sweet nurturing people.

My daughter wasn't a crier anyhow, but my co-workers loved her and held her and played with her.

Guess I was just lucky to work with such nice people.

I've seen babies brought to work from time to time. It doesn't bother me, probably because I'm good with chaos having spent part of my childhood in an extended Indian family where I had to study for exams surrounded by crying brats. I just tune it out now.

Sounds like a good idea. But it depends what amount of work you'd get from the baby...

Babies and nuclear waste sites don't mix.

"The fact that we are here today to debate raising America’s debt limit is a sign of leadership failure. It is a sign that the U.S. Government can’t pay its own bills. It is a sign that we now depend on ongoing financial assistance from foreign countries to finance our Government’s reckless fiscal policies."

We have folks bring their small kids in from time to time - kind of unavoidable if you work in a business that doesn't close on most holidays. I am not aware of any problems this causes. The kids that are brought in (age 1 to 5, I'd say) are usually very well behaved.

I think people SHOULD bring babies to work.....

we could all use a good, satisfying source of protein.

Lady, people aren't chocolates. Do you know what they are mostly? Bastards. ####### coated bastards with ####### filling. But I don't find them half as annoying as I find naive bobble-headed optimists who walk around vomiting sunshine.
