For the entire process to be completed? Expect 10-12 months. That is including the interview, medical, and all forms to be sent and processed by USCIS and NVC. Check out the different K3 forums and you should get a fairly accurate estimate as to what to expect for a timeframe. I wish you luck and pray you have patience for this loonng process. :)

so far it is running for 8months since june 2007 of filing we started with k3 however, CR1 was approved so according to the attorney we have to disregard the k3 process.

I-130 Timeline with USCIS:

I-130 Sent: A week before 6/24/2007

I-130 NOA-1 Received by Mail: 06/22/2007

I-130 NOA-2 Approval E-mail: 11/20/2007 5months 148days

I-130 NOA-2 Approval Received by Mail: 11/26/2007 6days

NVC Process of I-130:

NVC Assigns Case Number: 12/11/2007 16days

Affidavit of Support and bill sent: 12/24/2007 13days

If you ARE working with an attorney, the NVC will take the following steps:

1. Assigns a case number to the petition.

2. Send the Affidavit of Support processing fee bill and the immigrant visa fee bill to the attorney.

3. After the Affidavit of Support processing fee is paid, the NVC will send the Affidavit of Support Process and the Applicant Document Process instructions to the attorney.

4. After the Affidavit of Support and Applicant documents are submitted to the NVC, the NVC will review the information submitted for technical correctness and completeness.

5. After reviewing the submitted documentation, and the file is complete with all the required documents, the NVC will send the petition to the embassy or consulate where the applicant will apply for a visa when the case file is complete. For certain embassies/consulates, the NVC will schedule the applicant's interview. Approximately one month before the applicant's scheduled interview appointment with a consular officer, all interested parties (applicant, petitioner, and attorney) will receive an appointment letter containing the date and time of the applicant's visa interview along with instructions for obtaining a medical examination.

It will take less than a year for CR 1. My husband filed the petition Jan 2007 and I was interviewed Nov 20 2007 got my visa then I arrived here SF Calif last dec 29, 2007. There was also a delay because I had a mistake in the Ds 230 part one so the NVC returned the page where mistake was done so after submitting again the form i've waited for less than a month then i was given the interview date. Have faith in God, everything will fall into places in His rigth time ok. God bless you. Be patient!

You can see from our timeline that from USCIS receiving our petition until our upcoming interview is 10 months. You can get all the help going through the process here from others that have experience. Unless you have an unusual situation, you don't need to spend money for a lawyer.

We were together in China but it was the last day of my visit :( I am hoping for our 2nd anniversary to be here in the US but China is very slow. Your case is coming along fast and the Philippines is very fast. Looks like you have a great chance of your first anniversary here in the states. Good luck to you and think positive. :)

Thank you for your support. This is not an easy process for anyone. The human heart only takes so much especially when you are so deeply in love. I just received an update from my wife yesterday that USEM had our petition back on Dec 20th. It shouldn't be long now... (I hope) I hope the process speeds up for you. :)
