Hi

Can somebody clarify on this please : -

I-129F Ques. 16 : If your fiancé(e)'s native alphabet uses other than Roman letters, write his or her name and address abroad in the native alphabet". What does this mean ? My native language is not English but I hardly use my native language. And how can my fiancee write in my native language ? She only knows English ? Just don't know what they want to ask here ?? We had this problem while she (sponsor) was filling this form.

thanks !

They are suggesting for example, if your Fiance's native language is Chinese, you can use Chinese characters for this line. If you can write the name in "roman letters", do so. Don't get hung up on this detail, as it does not apply to you.

hi!

i am new here myself but my understanding of it is this:

if ur native language is for instance russian, chinese or sanskrit, it uses other letters than roman/latin letters.

one way of helping ur fiancee to fill out the form could be either for her to download the computer font she needs to write ur name in ur native letters (u would have to tell her which keys to type for that, i suppose) or u could handwrite it, scan it and email it to her, so she can copy it onto the form with an ink pen.

just my ideas, hope i could help :)

My native language is Hindi which is devnagiri script, different from Roman. BUT, English is more of a mother tongue to me and I hardly ever write in hindi.

In fact, it is a difficult language compared to English.

Well, I think she has written in Roman and there's no way she could have typed in my native language ;)

As william33 said, we always write my name in English and lets see what happens next..

As a point of clarification, if one can write their name in roman letters, that is the USCIS expectation.

All the best to you.
