hi im a new member here and desperately need help. I just send my aos application last dec 29 and never received info yet if uscis already received our application. but anyway, my question is it possible that our application be affected if my husband was laid off from work? you know we never expected he was laid off just yesterday and it

make me worry so much now. im afraid it will be the ground of denial of our application if ever it took my husband to

find a permanent job. ill appreciate your advices plssssssss. may God bless u all... :help:

Don't worry that you have not got info yet that they have received your package, it took a while when we filed also. Did you send it with some kind of conformation, so you can check it online? My husband was not working at the time we sent the package, but started working right after, then had to stop due to temp EAD expiring. He will be going back to the same job next week since he got the EAD card, but the AOS is not over yet. I did not know it was possible to have your application denied because you got laid off work.

Well maybe I'm confused here, is your husband the USC and the sponsor? Maybe that could be a problem.

Usually when you get laid off work, you will be eligable for unemployment, that could help him, until he finds another job.

Hello,,, dont worry much about your husband's lay-off status. AOS process is usually 5-6 mos. so he still has much time to look for a job and be stable when your interview is scheduled. I have a friend who had same situation with you but her husband found a better job and her AOS is approved and had the green card.
