Ahhhh tea. My MIL and her mother got me hooked on hot tea with cream. Mmmmmm!!!!!!! She brings me (or ships) King Cole tea bags. I've tried so many down here...none of them match the King Cole tea. Now, Cdn Tetley might be good...haven't tried it. So far King Cole wins hands down for me. :D

*sigh* There's so much that I wish we had down here.

Blech. Tea with cream. Might be a Cajun thing. LOL

Karen, you have won my heart reading how your heart is in Canada. I hope you get there. I really really do.(F)

Tea with cream. I said the same thing til I tried it. I suppose it's an acquired taste, eh?

:) Thanks Krikit...I am Canadian...despite having been born in the US. I can't explain it...but I feel like I belong there. Our plan is to go home once our daughter is through with school. That should be another 9 or 10 years. I know that's really long range, but I'm a planner. I've already been in touch with the school district up there to find out what requirements I need to work there once I'm permitted to work. :D

Nope the Tetley tea in the US is not hte same as Tetley in Canada. There is however a Tetley "British Blend" er summat, in the US, which if you poke around the UK forum, I'm sure I've read that some of hte Brits find it palatible. Most tea in the US however is geared toward making iced/sweet tea, not for drinking hot. I usually buy imports, or have someone bring me Canadian Tetley.

divorced - April 2010 moved back to Ontario May 2010 and surrendered green card

PLEASE DO NOT PRIVATE MESSAGE ME OR EMAIL ME. I HAVE NO IDEA ABOUT CURRENT US IMMIGRATION PROCEDURES!!!!!

yeah, I have seen the "British Bend" but it was very expensive... I bought a huge box of Tetley tea back from Canada I think it had 72 bags or something.... I am still working on it

When I go over to pick up stuff, what I usually have to bring back is Tetley tea, rye bread, and liverwurst.

Sounds gross though (which is why I have never eaten it)- i'm sure the ingredients are no worse than bologna or hot dogs, but they should have given it a better name, like 'spreadable delicious stuff' or something.

liverwurst actually isn't that bad.... it is like a spreadable meat product generally made from pork liver...

:dead: That does not look yummy lol. I sell fried livers at work and I would never come close to eating them. I don't even touch bologna! :hehe:

I should start making a list of things that I'll bring with me. I know for sure I'll be bringing Aero chocolate and Swedish Berries!! LOL I also wanna get a Tim Horton's coffee maker... I don't even really like coffee but it wouldn't feel like home without smelling Tim Hortons Coffee.

Hmmm... What other food/drinks does Canada have that the US doesn't???

Hi southern,

You might want to check out the Ketchup thread!

http://www.visajourney.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=100987

I've started a tentative list of ketchup and cheez whiz - you might want to skip the Rappie pie (unless you can track down krikit's ex MIL).
