I assume you are talking about USPS :) If you go to any USPS office they have the flat rate boxes for domestic and international mail. It is $37 for anything you can fit in the box and the weight limit is 20 lbs I believe.

Do those boxes fit in the Ghana postal boxes? I don't like sending anything that has to go through customs at Accra Municpal because they disappear. I have to send over the papers for the interview and it's a TON of stuff. I might use several envelopes, but that's stressful if some get lost. I may have to shell out the cash for DHL.

They do not fit in the boxes. They leave a note and your fiance has to go and pick it up from customs. That is how I sent all our information but it hasn't gotten there yet. I can say though that whenever I have sent Inusah anything that had to go through customs he always got it, no issues.

The boxes are free at the post office they are marked Flat Rate Box and it says the inside dimensions are 11 7/8 x 3 3/8 x 13 5/8 ( I have one waiting to be filled ) You need to fill out a customs for that you get from the office where you state what is inside. They may be inspected. I have not had any get lost yet and the olny damage was my packing error. You can pack them until the bulge as long as you don't alter the box. Joseph loves soaps and creams and coffee from the US and then I gather books and toys for the childern that I met while I was there to fill the box up. I send on average one a month. I keep my copy of the customs reciept for the "Visa File" From California to Lagos they take about a month to get there. From what I understand the family loves to get my box and divide up the goods. I have been told the childern have taken to calling me Auntie America. I imagine the boxes will continue even after he gets here with things for his family and the childern.
