You still need tagine pics, Jackie?

I use this one the most.

I've served food in these but I've been afraid to cook with them.

This is the unpretty-but-so-far-effective heat diffuser I ordered from Lehman's.

A crockpot does pretty well for tagine recipes since the point is to cook the food slowly. Whenever I cook tagines in the tagine itself, the liquid ends up bubbling out onto the stove. My husband tells me this is normal

We might make a meatball tagine for lunch. If so, I'll add another pic later.

I'm the USC.

Hey! The first pic is just like the one I brought from Morocco. I don't cook in it as much anymore b/c I'm not sure of the lead content and how "cook-safe" it is. I've since then ordered 2 Emile Henry tagines which we LOVE! Technically, we ordered 3 cuz we the top of one got broken, then after we ordered a replacement (whole tagine), the bottom of one got cracked! (*this worked out nicely cuz then we had a complete set again!) :luv: It was left on the stove and a burner got turned on under it by mistake. But frankly, we love both sizes - got a large for company and a small for just us.

On another note: we just got a Sur la Table in town and while checking it out, noticed they have a nice clay/ceramic tagine for about $25.

Jackie, if it's just for 1 or 2 people, small is sufficient, but if you are wanting to feed 3-6 people, you'll definitely need a larger one. Start small...

These are just like the one my husband packed in his suitcase in 05 and brought over. He still cooks in it but not that often thought we keep it in it's place, ready. He has to be careful or it bubbles out onto the stove also. He loves the crock pot now! Whatever he cooks or whatever he cooks it in, comes out delicious.
