Well we where confused about the AP,people say after the fee increase it is already in the fee of 1010 Dollars.

But if you look on the AP form it says the filing fee is 305 Dollars.

It does not say anywhere that the fee is included in the 1010.

So we figured we would leave it out.

We just went to the bank to get a check of 1010 and are good to mail our stuff out on monday.

AP IS included in $1010!

Yes, def included as part of it. So everyone might as well file for AP, because you are paying for it whether you want it or not.

If the two of you have a joint bank account, sending the AOS check from that account, having both your names preprinted on the check and perhaps even having her sign it, is what we did, and it worked beautifully at interview, since the checks they cashed indeed had both of our names (This was the old filing fee and system, so my wife signed one, I signed the other) we had irrefutable proof we legitimately shared a bank account!

Good luck on the process! And yes, your packet will need to go to Chicago.

Virginia, for the payment: You can get money orders at pretty much every bigger grocery store here as well. I never paid a fee for the ones I got.

We paid the I-129F with a check, the I-485 with a money order. Both no problem at all.

Send EAD and AP along with the I-485, like stated by others, def. no extra filing fee. I'd say $1.010 is enough anyway. And no matter how many checks/money orders you send: as long as the total amount is correct, USCIS will take it, don't worry!

That includes EAD and AP though, so it's really not that bad.

Hi Dakota1,

You send all the application to the Chicago lockbox :

USCIS Lockbox Addresses:

For United Postal Service (USPS) deliveries:

USCIS P.O. Box 805887Chicago, IL 60680-4120

For private couriers (non-USPS) deliveries:

USCIS Attn: FBASI427 S. LaSalle - 3rd Floor Chicago, IL 60605-1029

Make 1 cheque for $1010, remember to make it out to "U.S. department of homeland security" (edit to add: spell it just like that, do not use USDHS or USCIS or something similar)

(I guess you could make 2 cheques that add $1010, but why make it more difficult? :) )

Good Luck!

Saludos,

Caro
