hello, i just got my social security card in mail, it says VALID FOR WORK ONLY WITH DHS AUTHOTIZATION. does it mean i am allowed to work?

in the back it says, "If u are an alien legally in the U.s. with temporary permission to work, your social security card will be marked "valid for work only DHX authorization"

You are only allowed to work with explicit authorization from DHS. That would mean either a temporary EAD stamp if you got one when you arrived in the U.S, or an EAD (employment authorization document), for which you can apply at the same time that you adjust your status from K1 to become a conditional permanent resident.

I agree with above -- you will need a employment authorization from DHS.

That notation only keeps you from using the SSN card as a work authorization document. It does not otherwise affect the validity of the card or number. Once you have an I-551 stamp or card you can go apply for an SSN without the restriction.
