Too busy to read all the replies so pardon me if this has been said before:

1. We have one, we love it, every time I go to bed I'm glad we have it. That said, we've only had it a couple years and I've heard they go flat after several years. We decided to risk it, though.

2. It is NOT free for 90 days in the sense of actually paying nothing, you have to pay shipping BOTH ways if you do it that way and I think shipping is like $250 each way (so if you return it, you're out a total of $500). We bought ours from a store that gave us free next-day delivery and threw in one of the Tempur-Pedic pillows as well.

3. Beware of getting a Sleep Number bed if you like to cuddle with your spouse, there's a hard ridge down the center separating the two halves if you get one that allows each chamber to be inflated separately. And if you actually agree enough to get one of the ones with *one* chamber instead of two, why spend that money to get a Sleep-Number bed instead of a regular mattress that you both agree on. We did try a SN bed and it was comfortable for each of us, but then we couldn't lie wrapped around each other like we like to.

4. That was actually the reason we went with Tempur-Pedic ... it was the only one we found that was soft enough to be comfortable to sleep on, but didn't sag in the middle and give us backaches if we rolled towards each other.

5. Anyone who feels like they're not getting good sleep should also talk to their doctor seriously about the possibility of a sleep disorder.

I said this before but I want to repeat because many like you might have missed it and still could use the info...you choose the set you want, pay for it or get financed, after 90 days if you decide to return it they credit back the entire cost of the system you purchased minus the shipping costs which is a flat fee of 175 $. I called them this morning about this.

Thanks for your input as well.

i never realized what a light sleeper i was! i'm not used to sleeping next to someone else so before i had my husband i slept just fine alone! is there any way to create a deeper sleep?! lately i've also been taking melatonin but it doesn't work as well as i hoped!!

I used to have no problems sleeping until I began to share a bed regularly with someone else. My husband can sleep through a hurricane but I awake at the slightest noise - and he snores:-). I tried melatonin as well and it didn't work. A friend put me on to the technique I use now. It is safe, healthy and it works! Before going to bed take a calcium and magnesium supplement and GABA -(gamma-aminobutyric acid). They both aid in calming the body and mind and promoting healthy, restful sleep. I also take extra vitamin D since calcium requires vitamin D for absorption. I have a friend who swears by 5HTP. I tried it and it worked but not as well as the GABA and the calcium/magnesium combo. You can find GABA in a store that specializes in nutrition or vitamins.

Interesting. The melatonin works well for me as far as helping me relax. What about earplugs?

interesting! i'll give this a try! i am exactly like you... i wake up at the slightest movement. its like i'm on edge all the time lately or something. i don't know whether its the stress or if it IS because i'm sharing my bed with my husband now and i'm just not used to it. either way your idea is something i'm willing to try! 5-htp (i've tried it before, not for sleeping purposes though) and i don't remember it making me tired AT ALL.

thanks!

Supposedly, melatonin isn't a good choice if you use it too often (from what I hear).

why? what happens?!

tbh, I can't remember what I was told, but a mgr of a GNC told me not to take it all the time. I did a quick google search, and I came across this:

Side-Effects

Melatonin is non-addictive and, if taken at the proper dosage, has little downside except its expense. It has shown itself to be virtually free of any significant adverse effects; a lethal dose of melatonin cannot be identified which is a rare event in toxicology studies. However, more mild side-effects, such as headache, morning sleepiness, fatigue or nightmares, are experienced by average individuals when they try melatonin. Perhaps it is because these people do not require supplementation. In spite of the non-existence of serious side-effects, it is a cautious and generally made recommendation that melatonin should only be taken when your own production is low unless a serious condition is being treated with higher doses.

That's the interesting thing about this type of supplementation - it doesn't make you tired, it just lets you fall asleep naturally and stay asleep. It isn't like a sleeping pill or even an antihistamine.

nessa and i don't even notice the foam center, which separates the air bladder if you have the two sides that adjust.
