Ok... I just want my family here before I deploy... again!

I've been reading about nightmares and seems to me it's my reality.

Situation may be confusing confusing, but here it goes-

I have known my fiancé Carolay since we were kids because she is my cousin’s cousin. NO BLOOD RELATION! I was adopted at the age of 8 (became naturalized US citizen) and since then I often went back to Bolivia to visit relatives. In the times I visited Bolivia I’d always see Carolay, but never was serious until 1999. We had a long distance relationship which was hard on both of us. I also joined the US Navy Jan 2000. I made several trips to Bolivia during that time, however we both seemed to be going different directions in 2001. She was going to College and I got stationed in the middle of the Indian ocean (Diego Garcia). We lost contact.

When I was in Diego Garcia, I started chatting with a friend who also lived in Bolivia. One thing led to another and next thing I knew we got married. Got married in Bolivia and did all the paper work Apr 2003. September 2003 she entered the states. The next 2 years I was deploying left and right, mostly by choice. I know it must have been a strain on her, but things changed which led to a separation. It was not an immediate divorce because hectic work schedule. At the time I was involved the PANAMAX2005/HUREVAC Katrina for several months. Immediately after finishing that tour I deployed to Naples Italy. I informed INS at the time about my situation, but they gave no further instruction other than to initiate the divorce.

April 2005, I took about a month of leave to attend my sister’s wedding.

In that time I met Carolay again … Surprise !! I learned that I had been a father. Carolay was reluctant to tell me earlier because she heard I was married and didn’t want to intervene. I was mad, happy, sad, and full of feelings of that which I can’t even describe when I was informed. Not only did this child bring me happiness, but he changed my life in many ways. Despite being far apart, our relationship has grown both with my fiancé and my child. Not to overshadow the relationship that Carolay and I nourished, but when 2 couples have a child, the child becomes center of attention. I’m sure any parent would agree with that.

Now came the paper work, my son had not been registered therefore never had a birth certificate. He was born at Carolay’s house on 4th Jul 2002 … FIRE WORKS!!!!!!!! I was not there long enough to get a birth certificate on that trip. I went back on Dec 2006 to get him registered. Bolivia required 2 witnesses and some sort of other document that had his name. Thank God, Carolay had his vaccination records with his name (Andreik John McXXXXX). Same last name as mine, however with some typos that we were able to fix when we registered him.

June of 2007 I completed the divorce with my ex-wife and the following month I filed a K1/K2.

As you can see on my timeline, my process is at NVC.

I received a letter from NVC with case number and it also mentioned that within one week it would be sent to US Embassy in Bolivia.

I was happy until I called NVC a few hours ago.

The lady told me that my case was in Admin Process. She would or could not clarify on that, but she told me that all petitions go through that process. Is that true?

I was trying find similar cases but found none for K1/K2/K3 I also read some stuff about DNA test requests. Anyone think that applies in my case? Should I start that process now and where…? so many questions…

I will be soooooooooo happy when all of this is completed.

Being in the military I thought maybe the process would be faster, but NO! USCIS has a department dedicated for military, but they are just as rude as the regular USCIS customer service reps. At least I made through USCIS for now.
