I AM FINALLY COMING OUT OF THE BLUES, NOW THAT THE HOLIDAYS ARE OVER. THIS WAS SUPPOSSED TO BE THE BEST CHRISTMAS EVER CAUSE MY HUSBAND IS HERE, BUT IT TURNED OUT TO BE MORE OF A BUMMER THAN ANYTHING. HE DON'T CELEBRATE LIKE WE DO AND HE DIDN'T SEEM TO CARE MUCH. SO AMEN NOW THE HOLIDAYS ARE DONE!!!!

That you expected your Muslim husband to be excited about celebrating Christmas is disturbing. Did you think Muslims are just undercover Christians? Jeez . . . must have been a bummer for him, too.

I really go agree with you here. You just can't expect your husband to be excited about a holiday that he doesn't celebrate. I don't get excited about Eid.

well its unfortunate neither of u know what my husband and i discuss. When it came to the holidays when we were seperated from each other, there were things said and promises made where the expectations come from.... and as far as just because he is muslim is a crock of bull if u ask me. i am still learning about the religion, as he is mine. its really too bad instead of offering words of encouragement u critisized someone you know nothing about!!!!!!!!!

Ok, well I'm sorry that your Muslim husband didn't keep his promises to love CHRISTmas. You said you are still learning, but you call it a crock of bull. Ok, well good luck to you.

Christmas is a hard time of year for me, being away from my family. Especially with my mom and the threat of the leukemia coming back, I don't know how many Christmases I have left to possibly spend with her.

As for me, I feel great! It was easy to go out and not be wished Merry Christmas by store clerks. No one even said they felt sorry for me cause I don't celebrate. Now, if folks would just stop calling two whole months the "Christmas Season", it could be amazing! Yea, glad it's over . . . :)

Maybe it should not be about the expectation to "love" the holiday ... it should be about respecting each others holiday

CASSIE I COMPLETELY UNDERSTAND CHRISTMAS BEING A HARD TIME OF THE YEAR. I LOST AN INFANT SON 19 YEARS AGO AROUND THIS TIME. ITS ALWAYS BEEN HARD FOR ME AFTER THAT. IT WAS THE DAY AFTER MY BIRTHDAY AND 10 DAYS BEFORE CHRISTMAS. I PRAY FOR YOUR MOTHER AND YOU . AND TREASURE THE TIME YOU HAVE WITH YOUR MOTHER

Well, as a Muslim I know LOTS about Islam, and it doesn't include celebrating Christmas if you don't care to. Keep trying to turn your man into a pseudo Christian and see how that works for ya. I was married to a Christian for 3 decades and me not expecting him to become a Muslim or him not expecting me to convert either was a winning formula. If you weren't expecting too much, you wouldn't be so disappointed.

I didn't catch where she said he doesn't respect her for celebrating Christmas. She was upset because her husband wouldn't go shopping alone, even when her son offered to take him.

I'll join the BLUE club today. sigh. Mostly just missing my SO and wishing he could get here faster.

A hug and a (F). :( I remember that feeling.

Aw, thanks. I needed that. Maybe the weather DOES have something to do with it though. Right now, the wind is blowing like CRAZY. I'm talking constant 15-20mph with gusts upwards of 50mph. And then the snow is gonna hit. 8 feet in the mountains. We live on the mountain benches, so I'm sure we're gonna get dumped on. We just barely got our power back after it being off for about 2 hours due to the wind. Hope it lasts through the night. It's too cold to be without the furnace.

"I'M JUST HAPPY MY HUSBAND IS HOME TO BE WITH ME FOR CHRISTMAS THIS YEAR. I DON'T THINK HE UNDERSTANDS TOO MUCH ABOUT OUR WAYS OF CELEBRATING CHRISTMAS AND THAT KIND OF MAKES ME SAD CAUSE HE DIDN'T WANT ME TO SPEND ANY MONEY ON HIM AND HE DIDN'T WANT TO GO CHRISTMAS SHOPPING ALONE YET HERE EVEN THO MY SON OFFERED TO TAKE HIM.
