Hey!

My husband is currently a permanent resident. We would like to figure out how we could bring some of his relatives, i.e. Mother or Sister, over to the United States to live with us. His sister is finishing college this June and we would like her to be able to come over and work here after that.

What do we need to do? He will be applying for his citizenship in July, 90 days before the 2 year anniversary of his permanent residency being granted.

Is there any way that I could file for them to come, under my name? Is a visitor's visa our only option? Or, could we apply for them to come on a visitor's visa, then once they are here, file for permanent residency?

Thanks! I know its a lot.

Firstly he has to be a US Citizen before filing I-130s for his relatives, and can only file for naturalization within 90 days before 3hird anniversary of LPR status not 2nd anniversary, this is 3 years after getting first green-card (Conditional or Not).

Mother will be considered Unlimited family based, however siblings get lowest priority for visas and wait a very long time for visa number, siblings are F-4 priority.

OUR TIME LINE Please do a timeline it helps us all, thanks.

Is now a US Citizen immigration completed Jan 12, 2012.

Yah, what he said. I was headed that way, looking at your timeline, and then I got distracted.

Life's just a crazy ride on a run away train

You can't go back for what you've missed

So make it count, hold on tight find a way to make it right

You only get one trip

So make it good, make it last 'cause it all flies by so fast

If his sister wants to come live here she would either have to get a work visa for some comany or 2 marry a US citizen. If she gets here with a tourist visa and decides to stay, she will become an illegal immigrant once her tourist visa expires.
