It's up to citizens of United States to stop illegal immigration

How can it be that a country like ours, the United States of America, with so many people who don't approve of the illegals entering our home country, still let this continue? Why is it that we see ourselves as powerless to stop these people from breaking our laws?

Is it because we have stepped into a state of complete apathy? Is it because we think that there is nothing we can do? I just can't believe it!

There are millions of us who want this pattern of straining our infrastructure to the breaking point, forcing our educational system to cater to them, filling our hospitals with people who have diseases that had been previously eradicated, and the worst crime of all, using our tax money to pay for this.

How is it that our government feels justified to use our money to provide everything in Spanish so that they are more comfortable breaking our laws? How is it that a law enforcer cannot investigate or even ask for identification to prove that a person is here legally? They can't even question the legal status when a law is broken.

This is a simple problem to solve. We don't need committees, senators, governors, or our president to solve it. We just need to stand up and stop it. How? Visit the schools that teach our children and take a look at how your tax money is being spent. When you go to a store to shop, insist that English is spoken by the employees.

Attend a council meeting in your city or town and insist that your town or city does not become a “sanctuary” for illegals.

Our borders will not be protected by soldiers or walls, but by the citizens of this great country taking personal action to stop the illegals. Who cuts your lawn? Who cleans your home? Who does repair work on your home? When you hire these people - yes, we the citizens of this country - ask for their green card or citizenship papers. If they can't produce it, don't hire them.

Hire only legals. People who pay income tax like you do. If you stop the income, then you have taken steps to stop the lawbreakers.

We, the people of the United States of America, are the true border protectors. If we just sit back and wait for someone to do it, it won't happen. Personal action by each and every one of us is the only answer to solving this problem. We have to wake up to the fact that political action is the result of the citizens demanding that preferential treatment of illegals is the same as preferential treatment of any other lawbreaker. The law is the law, and why should one person's feet be held to the fire for breaking a law when another is embraced for it by the bleeding hearts of our society?

The people of Germany said there wasn't anything they could do when Hitler was doing his thing.

Are we becoming like them and just letting it happen around us, holding our hands in the air and saying “What can I do? I'm just one person.” All it takes is a lot of “one persons” individually standing up and saying “Stop!” We are the voters. There are millions of us. Just say, “Stop!”

What I don't understand is why do most people keep using the term "illegals" when they really mean South American or Mexican in fact.. anyone not quite white enough that doesn't speak good english? Why is it these same people complain about Spanish being used in the US but never anything else that is spoken or translated here in the US? The above posting just reeks of the Republican Party backed right wing American Nativist Movement (Know Nothings) which roamed the streets and many where elected to various office during the later part of the 1800's spouting a very similar message that's being spoken today. Another case of history repeating itself yet again spun on yet again by the insanity of some right wingers?

The writer of the above article really should do further research as many of the things listed in the post are quite inaccurate. The last thing this country needs is another bunch of Nativist's roaming the border as vigilantes acting as Judge and Jury or even worse?

There's 12 million illegals here. Should we just bend over & accept it?

"According to Beck, the results have been devastating: plentiful, cheap immigrant labor has distorted business decisions in a way that has slowed productivity growth, depressed wages, reduced worker benefits, and dramatically shifted hiring from native-born Americans to foreign workers in a number of both lower-paid and higher-paid occupations. African-Americans have suffered disproportionately in the current wave of mass immigration, which has knocked large numbers down the economic ladder as employers have chosen immigrants over African-American workers."

It's always interesting when someone puts up their sources, isn't it?

Yes I understand the OP posted an editorial piece. My comments where not directed at them but at the so called editorial!

Taking cards. Yes, most of the illegals are from mexico. They lie, steal, use false social security numbers to work here.

I highly support the new Arizona law. I want the law to be applied across the board, and be enforced. Sorry, know thats unpopular here, it's how i feel.
