Yeah, those damn Europeans must make up - what, 11 million - of the 12 million illegally here?!

Don't worry about it. :)

Very good. Don't let the door etc etc

What if some of them aren't even here for love, but love of the US? What about those, Mark?

If they love the US, they can't be all bad B)

Peace to All creatures great and small............................................

But when we turn to the Hebrew literature, we do not find such jokes about the donkey. Rather the animal is known for its strength and its loyalty to its master (Genesis 49:14; Numbers 22:30).

That cartoon is so simplistic and misleading that it would take a several books to refute why it isn't even relevant to the 21st Century in general and 21st Century USA specifically. Here's reality:

chart1.gif

USA immigration is way in excess of historical immigration norms. Our country prospered quite nicely and managed to survive quite well from 1924 to 1965 with very little immigration. Teddy Kennedy and the far Left had and has had a big hand in taking us to our present situation of mass legal and illegal immigration. George Bush (and to a lesser extent Bill Clinton) has made a bad situation even worst by adding mass illegal immigration to the insanity Kennedy and company started in 1965. Need I say more? It may be his and their vision of America, but it's not mine.

graph1.gif

This is what is happening and will compound if we do not get a handle on it or come to terms with reality. We will add another 120+ million in the next 43 years to the US population just to atone (in your mind) to punish us for your guilt over the American Indian. Who knows how many more by the 22nd Century. I'm not quite sure how this improves the quality of life for all Americans (including the descendants of American Indians) or is any sane rational for rampant mass immigration (legal or illegal). You'll have to explain it to me. I don't get it. I think it is a rather insane national policy myself. We have already added 75 million since 1980. Is this the legacy you want to leave to your children and grandchildren, much less live in yourself?

Not to mention...mass immigration (legal and illegal) to the USA does nothing to solve the world population explosion (mostly from the Third World). It just makes our myriad of problems in the USA even worst. Misery loves company, but I don't buy into that logic. Why even go there to appease your (or anyone elses') guilt. I can't do anything about the past, but I sure as sh*t can have a big say in our national future.

They say what goes around, comes around. I think the time is ripe for another 1924 moment in our history. Even then it wasn't about "no immigration". It was about reduced and sustainable levels of immigration. It needs to happen...or else suffer the consequences or pass it on to future generations of Americans. Why suffer needlessly for a problem not of our making? Empathy, compassion, guilt? Reality trumps that IMO. We can either be the masters of our own national destiny or we can just be led there like sheep through ignorance, guilt, and apathy.

"Credibility in immigration policy can be summed up in one sentence: Those who should get in, get in; those who should be kept out, are kept out; and those who should not be here will be required to leave."

"...for the system to be credible, people actually have to be deported at the end of the process."

US Congresswoman Barbara Jordan (D-TX)

Testimony to the House Immigration Subcommittee, February 24, 1995
