It's up to citizens of United States to stop illegal immigration

How can it be that a country like ours, the United States of America, with so many people who don't approve of the illegals entering our home country, still let this continue? Why is it that we see ourselves as powerless to stop these people from breaking our laws?

Is it because we have stepped into a state of complete apathy? Is it because we think that there is nothing we can do? I just can't believe it!

There are millions of us who want this pattern of straining our infrastructure to the breaking point, forcing our educational system to cater to them, filling our hospitals with people who have diseases that had been previously eradicated, and the worst crime of all, using our tax money to pay for this.

How is it that our government feels justified to use our money to provide everything in Spanish so that they are more comfortable breaking our laws? How is it that a law enforcer cannot investigate or even ask for identification to prove that a person is here legally? They can't even question the legal status when a law is broken.

This is a simple problem to solve. We don't need committees, senators, governors, or our president to solve it. We just need to stand up and stop it. How? Visit the schools that teach our children and take a look at how your tax money is being spent. When you go to a store to shop, insist that English is spoken by the employees.

Attend a council meeting in your city or town and insist that your town or city does not become a “sanctuary” for illegals.

Our borders will not be protected by soldiers or walls, but by the citizens of this great country taking personal action to stop the illegals. Who cuts your lawn? Who cleans your home? Who does repair work on your home? When you hire these people - yes, we the citizens of this country - ask for their green card or citizenship papers. If they can't produce it, don't hire them.

Hire only legals. People who pay income tax like you do. If you stop the income, then you have taken steps to stop the lawbreakers.

We, the people of the United States of America, are the true border protectors. If we just sit back and wait for someone to do it, it won't happen. Personal action by each and every one of us is the only answer to solving this problem. We have to wake up to the fact that political action is the result of the citizens demanding that preferential treatment of illegals is the same as preferential treatment of any other lawbreaker. The law is the law, and why should one person's feet be held to the fire for breaking a law when another is embraced for it by the bleeding hearts of our society?

The people of Germany said there wasn't anything they could do when Hitler was doing his thing.

Are we becoming like them and just letting it happen around us, holding our hands in the air and saying “What can I do? I'm just one person.” All it takes is a lot of “one persons” individually standing up and saying “Stop!” We are the voters. There are millions of us. Just say, “Stop!”

given some of the statements i've seen in vj, more than a few won't even lift a finger to stop them.

Because the negative impacts of illegal immigration fall disproportionately on people without

the education, financial resources, or political clout to push an agenda of reforms through

the legislature. At the same time, those who are not affected don't really care and won't lift

a finger.
