Hi guys, I'm a little confused and hoping someone has some info on what's going on. We mailed our complete AoS package on 11/29/07 and received all three NOA1's dated 12/05/07. I kept checking, but none of our receipt numbers were online - Receipt Number Not Found is what I was getting. With the holidays, I was sure we'd receive the notice for Biometrics after the new year.

Then, the day before yesterday we received a letter, stating our case was transferred to CSC!

Now normally I know this possibly means that we will not have an interview, (we should just be happy right?) but something's off on our timeline. From others' timelines, I see that everyone first had Biometrics, then their case was transferred(if applicable).....but ours is the other way around. We have to have a biometrics before a GC can be issued, right? So will we still receive a notice for biometrics, even though our case is at CSC? Why would they transfer first, then call us for biometrics?

This is all for the I485, and I still have nothing on the EAD or the AP. No biometrics, and still not appearing when I search for them online.

I tried calling the Info. line, but of course I got no info worth anything....just basically got told to wait 6 months and if nothing happens, call back. Does anyone have any advice to put my mind at ease?

Please!

Biometrics are handled by field office, the actual petition is first looked at by NBC and can be sent to field office or CSC, they can happen in any order.

Our biometrics happened after NBC transfered the case to CSC.

It all depends on how busy your field office is as to when they will schedule the biometrics.

OUR TIME LINE Please do a timeline it helps us all, thanks.

Our biometrics appointment was after transfer....

Thanks fwaguy. Good to know I'm not the only one. I kept looking but every timeline I saw, had bio first, then transfer. Was your GC approved without interview? I just wonder how "comfortable" should I get with the thought that we won't be called for an interview?

I just assumed that the decision to transfer would occur after the biometrics....so the transfer notice threw me. I guess we continue waiting for the bio notice.

But what about the EAD/AP? (I have no further info on those, other than the NOA1 on 12/5/07) Does the bio notice occur once for all three applications, or can we expect to have to go possibly 3 different times to have biometrics taken?

That is what I thought too but I found out yesterday that my case was transferred the day before my biometrics appointment. So hopefully you just have not had your biometrics appointment scheduled yet, although you might still want to call to ask about an appointment, just in case they forgot to schedule a biometrics appointment for you.

Also, Biometrics is not the interview, and from what I've read on this site since your case was transferred you have a good chance that you won't have an interview and that is not a problem. But you do need the biometrics.

Typicaly there are different biometrics for the various petitions, who knows CSC may approve the AOS before you get EAD and/or AP, in that case EAD and/or AP wont be needed, the green-card replaces them both.
