Yanno, Sandy, it's really unfair how you're trying to paint everyone here when all they did was point out that maybe all the women in Egypt aren't *jealous* of you.

I agree... I was told to grow up and that I am self absorbed when I disagreed with her statement about jealousy. I don't get it.

I just have to say that I'm too busy trying to keep my hands off my hubbie and my eyes too when I'm with him that I've never noticed other people looking.

But in all fairness, I'm sure that we've all seen or even done it ourselves, people looking at couples of mixed races. I've noticed it alot here in the Deep South over my years.

What's petty and mean-spirited about not agreeing with an assumption that Egyptian women who look askance at someone must somehow be "jealous" of her ?

I don't get it.

You guys just kill me.

I never said all Egyptian women are jealous of me. I was merly attempting to make more clear what Hitchoo was trying to say and some were having a hard time with by giving SOME examples of what I have experianced.

I agree with others...it is pretty presumptuous to assume that if someone is staring at you that they are jealous. Maybe you are wearing or doing something socially unacceptable. Maybe you make a strange couple to them (whether its an age difference, apparent racial difference).

As for AP, I truly think it depends on the red flags they see in the petition and how the interview goes. We've discussed this on this board repeatedly. Age differences can be a factor. How the couple met can be a factor. The time spent together can be a factor. There are many more. It is the composite picture (and only you can know your case and try to address whatever issues you think you may have).
