Factors i've noticed about issuing visas in MENA

where are you getting that morocco has, in general, long ap waits? i thought long waits there were the exception and not the norm.

as well, is there any way to compare fraud incidence between morocco and egypt? some way to just check out the statistis on it?

through reading the timelines of MENA members, i mainly concerned with Egypian members and they have the longest APs , but i've read some Moroccoian timlines as well and approximately their APs are close to Egyptian ones

For the most part, just from what I've seen on visa journey, the people going through Morocco endure about 2 weeks tops for a wait. Sure there are exceptions that compare to Egypt peeps but those are exceptions. What was said a while back though is that Morocco tends to just send the petitions that they question back to the USCIS whereas Egypt does in depth investigating such as home visits, lengthy name checks inside Egypt (in addition to DOS name checks, etc.)

There are exceptions in Egypt where people go through a lot faster AP, like less than a month, but it seems that those are where the beneficiary is a woman or a man who has already been in the US once before or where the couple both met in Egypt as opposed to online.

Egypt and Pakistan seem to me to be the longest AP waits but if you check out Mexico and some other countries they have the wait just to get the interview and it's way longer so it's not like it's just us.

That seems about right. I thought if there was doubt, Morocco just tended to deny the petition, whereas Egypt puts them on a really long AP and does more research.

My case is weird, and seems like an exception for this comunity, so I don't really have much to add.

"Finding a job and obtaining an affordable flat are the two gargantuan challenges facing the majority of young Egyptians as they set out on adult life and prepare to start a family.

Even when work is available, most engaged couples find they are compelled to postpone marriage for several years until they can afford housing. Many a relationship has foundered because the man could not save enough to provide an independent home for his bride-to-be."

it's the subject matter of a lot of egyptian tv dramas.

I guess I just never got the impression these men were not marriageable in there own country. I know for sure my fiance had a lot of opportunities , they just weren't his personality match. It just seems a very broad statement without much truth.

I don't think it's not marriageable in the sense that a woman just wouldn't want them at all. I think it's all financial. There is a HUGE pressure on the men there to provide a LOT of money before a proposal is accepted.

Is this why your husband couldn't marry an Egyptian woman? Good thing he found you then, I guess.

There's no need to be rude !

She offered her insight that men don't marry Egyptian because they can't afford it. I was not being rude. I was responding to her post. I assume she is talking somewhat about her own situation because why else would she be making such comments?

Beause it is an actual reality many young people face in that region? An attempt at a show of grace would be a welcome change of pace here.

My husband was supposed to marry his cousin but when it came time to marry he wasn't ready...not financially since not much was asked of him but he just wasn't ready to settle down yet.

It is a very good thing that we found each other since we are blessed to have such a wonderful love. :luv:

Regions Wars

England Vs MENA

 Go MENA CATS GO GO

I don't think this is a "RELIGION WAR". Cultural, maybe. According to the commentries on here, apparantly alot of MENA men HAVE to provide ALOT before even anticipating an acceptance of a proposal from a/n ( ...fit in app. country) man. If they cannot provide what is expected by those women in their own country-maybe it appears to stand to reason they would focus on a more " attainable" goal...maybe?

As for the stinky looks abroad-I dunno about that. Jealousy? I guess only you know. Maybe we cannot see what there is to be jealous about, but maybe they can...Horses for courses.....

On a personal level...I just KNOW that when we are in Holland, Mark gets the big stink eye from guys everywhere we go...Seen it all the time, with my own eyes. I know it's because they envy him :blush: When we are here-I see all the women looking at us, and I can tell it's because they really wish he would ditch me for them.....I can tell by the way they look. ....

Or maybe they don't like the sweater I am wearing, or his jacket....

Now honestly, if I sounded big headed, arrogant, self absorbed with the above in italics...It's because presuming that folks are looking at you because they are jealous of you/your man IS presumptuous and a sad indication of being overly self absorbed IMO.

IK HOU VAN JOU, MARK

Take a large, almost round, rotating sphere about 8000 miles in diameter, surround it with a murky, viscous atmosphere of gases mixed with water vapor, tilt its axis so it wobbles back and forth with respect to a source of heat and light, freeze it at both ends and roast it in the middle, cover most of its surface with liquid that constantly feeds vapor into the atmosphere as the sphere tosses billions of gallons up and down to the rhythmic pulling of a captive satellite and the sun. Then try to predict the conditions of that atmosphere over a small area within a 5 mile radius for a period of one to five days in advance!
