through reading the timelines and the stories of some MENA couples,i noticed that issuing visa and giving long AP depends on some conditions, i ill count some.

1-the approval from the families especially from the MENA spouse's family , can shorten the AP or makes it longer.

2-big age gap mainly refers to fraud if strong ties or evidence of the relation not available.

3-if the couple have met long delay in processing their petition(owing to a mistake from th NVC OR USCIS) before the embassy step , it shortens the AP even can get the visa without AP

4-the consular himself..is very important factor if its not the most important ever in the whole process

consular must been chosen carefully for this job ,that they are very expert officers ,must have met many couples from many backgrounds and can track lie or any fishy matters, that can make them suspect the relation ,and it mostly end with giving a long AP what i really think its mainly to test the relation especially in MENA countries. so i recommend that couples should attend the interview with every kind of evidence of the relation, and they should look confident and they compeletly happy together and that they really need to start their life as soon as possible,,,,,,,,,dont ever ever let them think your a SMARTASS

5- the last factor that i need more enlightment on it, couples who live apart have the priority than those who live together in the MENA spouse's country.

shokran

Interesting observations. T

he only thing I've really learned is that once you think you figured out the flow of the process, they go and change things completely.

Life's just a crazy ride on a run away train

You can't go back for what you've missed

So make it count, hold on tight find a way to make it right

You only get one trip

So make it good, make it last 'cause it all flies by so fast

You only get one trip

I just wanted to note that it seems you are referring specifically to Egypt. The length of the AP process in Morocco, as far as we've been able to gather, is determined by how long the FBI security check takes and not on any characteristics of the relationship.

Jomo's , yess they can change everything , but every region has its own condition , so it varies from one contry to another

Jenn , but i do believe the long AP in MENA's countres including Morocco is to test the relationship, that Security checks wont take 10 months long

If Casa has a doubt about the relationship, they send the petition back. A few Morocco members have had a long AP - occasionally a name check will take a long time, but most AP through Casa is fairly short.

I beg to differ - security checks can take that long due to general staffing shortages, backup and inefficiency. It's important to note that not all immigration issues are handled by a single agency in the US there are several including Homeland Security, Department of State and USCIS, it can even end up in the Justice Department or others depending on circumstances. Nothing is as clear cut as it may seem. I work in DC and it's a mess lol!

I did not go through a MENA consulate but after reading for years on this site and others, I still am pretty well convinced IF this happens it is outside of the normal procedure. It would be much easier for a consulate to simply return the petition to USCIS than to sit on it for months to "test" a relationship. If they are super backlogged, one would think that sitting on anything beyond what they can control just seems illogical. (I do know many many times these consulates can give really horrible information, but I can assure you, I received months of misinformation from Montreal as well). I probably am in the minority that think they are not going out of their way to make everyone's life hell, although it may seem that way while going through it.

I agree that they don't do it just to test you. Why would they want to inflict themselves with THAT much email from the USC asking when will the case be done along with the countless number of congressmen and senators that will be calling and the amount of complaints filed due to the slow process. I truly think if they doubt it then it goes in a doubt pile and it waits there until they get to it and because they're so wickedly understaffed lately it takes a LOT longer. That's my theory for today though who the hell knows it could change.

i can see the logic in your suggestions , but to my view they all are working for one system , it does not matter where it stays, and its like every embassy has a specific instructions from the government, i ill run it in more funny Egyptian derision

you egyptian embassy , heres your boss. we lately noticed that our pretty american gals scored a big number of relation with dark skined egyptian players, do you think they got bored of us , or those egyptian players are scaming thme to enter the holy heaven of the united states, and you better investigate this and just let in who deserves it , can you afford that or hmmmmm you know,

bye bye

I don't understand. Are you saying that Egyptian women who happen to work at the U.S. consulate in Egypt are jealous of American women stealing Egyptian men?
