HI all ,

This is a basic thing i have to know about I-134 ..may be all knows but i cdnt find out the exact answers......

what all documents my fiance need to submit along with I-134 as she is self emplyed .........

# I guess these are the ones :

Bank statements ( how many years and shd they be notarised too ?? )

I-134 notarised

Last year tax return

Asset documents like for house ( hope i can show photocopy of those and notarised )

# Also my cosponsor is employed with an university and she has to diposit the same ??? She says she cannot give an employers leter as its too hasslesome to take out. What can i do about that???

# In the question 11 in the I-134 where its goes like this "

I ..................make specific contributions to the support of the person(s) named in item 3.

(If you check "intend," indicate the exact nature and duration of the contributions. For example, if you intend to furnishroom and board, state for how long and, if money, state the amount in U.S. dollars and state whether it is to be given in a lumpsum, weekly or monthly, and for how long."

can my cosponsor write that she would help me thru 3 years in both money & housing whatever needed ( without specifying anything particular ) ..........

PLease extend your valuable experience and knowledge .....Thanks from my heart .............

You've got a good idea of docs needed, see this link for exact http://www.uscis.gov/files/form/I-134.pdf see section II a,b, and c.

The bank letter and employment letters don't need to be notarized. Photo copies should be ok for the house. Since you have to get a letter from a bank officer, and you need to have the I-134 notarized, why not ask the bank officer (most likely any bank officer will also be a notary of the public) to notarize everything. Even if it's a copy, they will notarize the it as a certified copy. Not necessary, but why not overkill right? This was my bank officer's suggestion.

Your co-sponsor is required to provide the same documents. But, they only need to meet the poverty requirements. So if a sponsor meets the requirements based on income alone, assets are not necessary, and vice versa. Again, why not overkill if you can. Better too much than too little.

Good Luck!
