Hello! I have been together with my boyfriend for a little while. He lives in Canada and I live in the US. The nice thing we are only 3 hours apart. My question is that I have recently became pregnant and we are wishing to be together. What types of visas can we consider to apply for. It really seems hard to find info on this specific situation. you can either him go live in us or you in canada.

Both country have programs.

To go to canada, i think you need to be married

For US, you have either a K1 visa for fiance then to get married in the US (within 3 month after arrival) or K3 for already married people.

Both ways it will take from 9 to 12 months to process and will have some fees, if your situation is simple (wich sound like it) you don't need the help of a lawyer and this website is the best place out there to figure things out.

Once you have whatever visa suit you, one can move to the other one.

Once in US (if he moves) you will have to do an adjustment of status for him to have a green card and be able to work... and tigidoo.... all done

Now from what I understand is that if we apply for a fiance visa then he can work in the US while the application is being processed. Is This True?

now if we didnt want to rush the marriage I can sponser him cant I. What do you think about that idea?

Your BF could try to apply for a work or student visa, which are non-immigrant. If you want to get married and you want him to immigrate permanently based on his relationship to you, you can find the options here
