You will not be able to attend interview at the consulate in Guangzhou, only your fiancee is able to enter the interviewing area at the consulate.

A Very Strong Recommendation. Join "A Candle For Love" that site has extensive knowledge of preparing for the interview at that consulate, even a specific forum which has general questions and answers posted by a consular officer at that consulate.

This person entered the gauntlet un-prepared.

My husband "fiance" was able to attend it with me but that was in Germany and it all depends on the country
OP is dealing with China, and the petitioner cannot attend interview at that consulate. I was in Guangzhou for the interview but was not able to enter the consulate for the interview.

Thank you both for your reply. After reading more on the CFL site I will not be allowed in the interview.

That site is a great resource to prepare for the interview. It looks pretty complicated and it's nice to have the knowledge of what to expect available before hand!

Join that site, it is the best place to ask questions and perhaps make some Chinese/American friends with similar experiences. There are a few member only forums there that are fun to participate in.
