We were at a friend's cottage, once, and my son caught a fish. My friend, Albert, said "Watch this."..... he left the head and tail on, and just removed the fillets. When all that was left was the head, tail, and spine, you could see the fish still moving. :o Then he said "There. It doesn't get any fresher than that." It still freaks me out.

:ranting:

UGH.. that is horrible.. the poor fish.. i'm not a veggie.. but honestly, you can be more humane if you kill for food.. No wonder it is still freaky to you Krikit!

But when we turn to the Hebrew literature, we do not find such jokes about the donkey. Rather the animal is known for its strength and its loyalty to its master (Genesis 49:14; Numbers 22:30).

Anyone ever have lobster sushi? They pretty much take the tail and body out and chop up the meat. The head is still moving with the antennae and stuff and the meat is actually trembling sometimes. The head is used as a garnish.

I'm personally against prolonging suffering or causing needless pain. I also believe if you are torturing other live creatures for pleasure or because you don't have power in other areas of your life, then you are well on the way to being a sociopath.

Fishing, I think you should bonk the ####### out of the fishe's head and then gut it. Filleting the fish without stunning it or gutting it out first is quite out there and sort of disturbing.

As for the lions I don't know about the idea that once an animal kills and dines on a human they develop a taste for them and view them as prey. I do think wild animals are just that - wild and can act out and kill at any time. I doubt the lions will be harmed, since they are probably valuable. I'd also think the animals were very hungry if they devoured the person like that.

Usually you see active predators go for a throat or vital area or pretty much slowly nip their prey to death. Mother nature is not always fair, pretty, or kind and any animal eating another animal is pretty gruesome.

I just hope he died before they started eating him. I've seen shows where a prey is still flopping around while the predators eat them. :dead:

unlikely......

I've been working on the ocean for 24+years. The petroleum production facility I work on is a couple of hundred feet tall and I have a bird's eye view of all the fishies swimming in the water. The big fishies eat the smaller fishies and so on and so forth. It's called the food chain. Nothing personal...it's just the way it is.

When there are a lot of sharks or baracudas around, I've had to quit fishing because whenever I get a fish on the line they steal them from me. I get tired of reeling in nothing but a head. They eat the body and leave the head on my hook. And the head is still alive and quivering.

Life at the bottom of the food chain sux.

When humans are out of their element they are not at the top of the food chain...they are food. Get stranded out in the deep sea in the water and sharks are the least of your worries. Triggerfish, crabs, shrimp, etc. could care less whether you are alive or dead when they take their tiny bites out of you. Nothing personal...that's just the way it is.

"Credibility in immigration policy can be summed up in one sentence: Those who should get in, get in; those who should be kept out, are kept out; and those who should not be here will be required to leave."

"...for the system to be credible, people actually have to be deported at the end of the process."

US Congresswoman Barbara Jordan (D-TX)

Testimony to the House Immigration Subcommittee, February 24, 1995

Said the alligator looking for its puppy.

If I was worth a damn with photoshop I would have a picture of an alligator riding a camel.
