hi everyone!

hope it's ok to post this here - just thought i'd write out our story so far with US immigration and get you guys' opinions on how we're progressing, any advice etc. i'm a uk citizen, my husband's a us citizen, we got married in the uk in february 2007 after he came in on a fiancee visa. now he's living in the uk with me on a leave to remain while we go through the petition process and until we can move to america together. we sent off the first forms (i am really bad at remembering the letter/number codes for all these forms - i have a total mental block about it!!) the beginning of march and things have gone back and forth. the last thing we sent off was the police check for me and a 'missing' birth certificate (the original one i sent wasn't the right sort!). so, am i right in thinking we've paid all our fees now? what's the next step for us? whenever i look at timelines it's just a huge list of the form 'code' and i'm afraid i glaze over a little! oh dear. anyway any feedback/advice would be greatly appreciated! i can't wait to move to america! :)

I'm assuming that you have already sent in the DS-230 which is biographic info on your husband and paid the $380 visa fee since your timeline stops in Sept. The next step, if you filed in the U.S. is for the NVC to complete your case and send it to the embassy. If you filed at the embassy, once your case is complete you have to file DS-2001 readiness to emigrate. Next is the medical and your remaining expense. The cost is 170 pounds and the info on locations is here:http://london.usembassy.gov/cons_new/visa/iv/medexam.html

Good Luck!

The medical is actually 200 pounds, not 170. You'll also need to pay for the visa on the day of the interview -- you've filed for a CR1 visa which now costs $400 (you can also pay the equivalent in sterling);you'll also have to pay for the visa to be couriered back to you, which costs 14 quid.
