We haven't had any problems where we live....my husband has blond hair and blue eyes so he fits right in. The only time I've had any comments made was when we first got together...my mom made one comment about me being crazy because we met online but once she met my husband she changed her tune..hehe! The only other thing that I get are people asking me if my husband wears wooden shoes... And if he's with me they get a very strong he!! no...

Hugs, Liz

Yeah. About a month ago she ambushed me on YM and asked if I wanted to go to her brothers wedding (no).

I usually get... 'He's Russian, that's so cool' and then 'you'll have to live in America? Poor you'... okay so I admit that US isn't my first choice of residence but if my love is there and I want to be with him them I am willing to compromise. It's not the person but the place that I get the prejudice for!

I've had a tough time from some my family, because my fiance is Pakistani, Muslim (most of my family are devout Christians) and because we met online. It not only has to do with those things. My mom doesn't think we really know each other because we 'only' talk on mic. She doesn't consider it a relationship (or at least has told me that in the past) and actually told me that it made me look desperate, to have a bf from so far away. :(

From the beginning, I felt like I had to defend him and our relationship. I don't talk much about him because I don't want to think about what people might be thinking in their heads (green card!)...(Muslims are terrorists)...blah blah blah.

I struggle with this stuff. It's very hard for me.
