Still waiting for papers.

I have to tell you this has been the most stressful and frustrating task that I have taken on so far with trying to get some papers from the NSO office for the kids, wifes, birth certificate, and our marriage license out of Bacolod City. I am going on two months since I have been married over there and have yet to send the i-130 packages over for the first phase.

We had a problem with the kids birth certificate of having some wrong information about her mother and the father. Had to go to a lawyer to get it corrected and now we are waiting for them to be sent from the CR office where we were married and then to the NSO office.

I sent over her g325-a papers last week for her to sign them. Did it by Johnny Air and they still aren't there. Holidays is the culprit here. So this process is starting to get on my nerves and we haven't even filed yet. I know it's going to be a very long, long time before I see here lovely face again. I had so much fun when I was there in Bacolod that I want to go back. Unfortunately I don't have that kind of money all the time.

I will be lucky just to get her and the kid over here in a year. Which brings up my question. Is it Mandatory that I be there for her interview if and when that happens? I know it looks better, but I might not have the money to pay for 3 tickets.

No Its not mandatory...

I will go to the Philippines for my wife's interview.. Despite with the same situation you are having..

Reasons..

This could be my last trip to the Philippines for a very very long time... (We need to save up some money and work)

She's taking our 2yrs old daughter.. (You know toddlers)

She gets sick on traveling Land, Sea, Air... (I am just worried for the both of them if that happens)

It seems to take forever to get paperwork from the civil registar to the NSO. We sent in a copy of the marriage certificate from the wedding with the I-130 and then sent the NSO certificate with the DS-230. If you need to get anything quickly back and forth, FedEx is exspensive, but very fast on their overnight service....only 1 day. If you saved copies of the g-325, scan them and e-mail them for her to sign but she will have to mail or express them back to have original signature.

You don't have to be at the interview, but I"m going because I like the Philippines and I'm going to stay for 2 months as my wife promised her employer that much notice before leaving.
