You won't be allowed inside the embassy, but it certainly doesn't hurt for you to be there. Others have given their fiance their passport so she (or he) can show the interviewer that their spouse is outside waiting on them. There is anecdotal evidence that this helps in showing a bona fide relationship.

I am sorry to say, but mox'S post is incorrect  . Maybe in Russia you wait outside, but not the Colombia US Embassy

YOU CAN GO TO THE INTERVIEW AT THE BOGOTA EMBASSY AND GO IN ALSO,...I did with my wife, see our timeline....

Come to the COLOMBIA CLUB VJ THREAD AND YOU WILL MEET LOTS OF FRIENDS THERE AND LEARN ALL YOU WILL NEED TO KNOW

FROM people that have been there and done that, like us....and we didnt use a attorney, we did all the paperwork ourself.....

The US Embassy in Bogotá DOES allow the US citizen to accompany his/her significant other. In fact, in my opinion it helps out a lot because it gives the CO a chance to ask both parties questions and approve the visa based on their answes. I highly recommend going along with your fiancée but if you can't and you think your case is pretty solid, he should be ok going alone.

I went with my (then) fiance and being there with him great - it eliminated the worry of not knowing what was going on!

I also intend to attend the CR-1 interview with him later this month.
