Wow.

Well first of all, a 6-month wait for an NOA #2 is not unusual these days. The good news is, you're probably getting close to completion (barring any unforeseen circumstances.)

Second of all, if your fiancee's income is just $17,000 a year (AND she has KIDS to support) then she's most likely going to need a co-sponsor when you get to the AOS stage. Does she have one lined up yet ?

Best of luck.

I agree unless she has enough assets that could be quickly liquidated, does she have equity in a home she owns ? Savings ?

Please keep in mind that many couples go on AP after the interview which can take months.

One must find resolve in this journey to be patient and never give up no matter how long it may take.

It takes courage to see this through and is not for the faint hearted. Be strong.

Read this forum to become familiar with the waiting times and what to expect. It helps to not feel so alone and receive encouragement

and support. There are many couples here whose wait times are a year and more. Perhaps she can visit you again.

Best wishes for a speedy journey (F)

Do NOT let this visa process kill your love. Be strong and this too shall pass. Hang in there. (F)

Exactly. We've all been through those painful days (and some still are) that never seem to end and you feel like you will never be reunited with your fiance(e). So many of us have spent nights crying ourselves to sleep because we felt so helpless in the process. But the key is to push on. Do not allow it to kill your relationship, because it will if you let it happen, just like Bridget says.

As mentioned above, its not unusual to wait 6 months or more for NOA2. That was about how long we waited and it seemed like FOREVER. I also suspect some of the delay is due to the holidays. From November through the middle of January USCIS moves leven more slowly than usual because of all the government holidays.

Ask your fiance to come vist VJ and talk to some folks who have already gone through the process and/or have completed it. I know it was a huge help to me find other women in the same situation. Even though we cant make things move faster, a support group is immensely helpful. Inchaa Allah you will have that NOA2 very soon. (F)
