The funny thing is, Louisiana just elected an Indian (from India) as our REPUBLICAN governor. Isn't it funny how transparent some people are? They're the same people that refuse to cross party lines, ensuring that the corruption continues.

bound to be a step up from what you had in louisiana, a sit on her hands governor while a hurricane is destroying NO.

Here in little india, he is widely admired by my mostly-democratic peers, but his political affiliations are seen as being inconsequential.

Just sayin'.

I agree completely. His party affiliation is just something I was using to point out the utter stupidity in the earlier post about racist republicans.

For any democrat that claims the republicans are racists, I give them Condeleeza Rice and Colin Powell. Then I ask them to show me all of the minorities in the Clinton cabinet.

The GOP is part big business, part evangelical and part crazy pissed off white folk. The last category is the brush the dems like to paint all repubs with.

Nagin is a different story altogether. New Orleans is an island within Louisiana. The people most considered responsible for electing Blanco are the folks in Acadiana and North Louisiana (Southern Arkansas to most people here).

I doubt it. Michael Moore doesn't have any real solutions, his forte is pointing out the problems.

For sure. My fiancee is a perfect example of the stupidity within Sicko. Her story is the epitome of the problems with the Canadian healthcare system.

Just saying that the GOP is a coalition and that's one of its components. The component that I like is the one of fiscal conservatism but there's no denying that there's a contingent of "old timers" in the party who want to roll the clock back to the way it used to be, and that small group is mostly white. They're small in number but quite vocal.

if it's a coalition and there are many components, why no comments about crazy indians?

The crazy indians are democrats. Come up to Jersey some day and I'll introduce you to them. It'll make your skin crawl, the things you'll hear.

I think he's just addressing a certain someone's blind stereotype of republicans.
