I agree completely. His party affiliation is just something I was using to point out the utter stupidity in the earlier post about racist republicans.

For any democrat that claims the republicans are racists, I give them Condeleeza Rice and Colin Powell. Then I ask them to show me all of the minorities in the Clinton cabinet.

Nagin is a different story altogether. New Orleans is an island within Louisiana. The people most considered responsible for electing Blanco are the folks in Acadiana and North Louisiana (Southern Arkansas to most people here).

For sure. My fiancee is a perfect example of the stupidity within Sicko. Her story is the epitome of the problems with the Canadian healthcare system.

The component that I like is the one of fiscal conservatism but there's no denying that there's a contingent of "old timers" in the party who want to roll the clock back to the way it used to be, and that small group is mostly white. They're small in number but quite vocal.
