one thing is that vonage doesn't work to well if you are also doing stuff on your computer that uses lots of memory.. like if you are playing a computer game while on the phone, the phone probably won't work that great..

Are you implying that he is playing like World of Warcraft while he is talking to her!?!? :hehe:

Which we do, play wow, and use the phone, never noticed a difference.

 I don't think he even knows what WOW is.... That also reminds me, he had a roomate back then and when he was on the telly with me, his roomie couldn't connect to the internet. As soon as the phone hung up, the internet came back.

no, I wasn't really referring specifically to her situation... :P

I don't play games but sometimes I have stuff running on my computer and then sometimes my Vonage doesn't work all that great..

Ok that sounds weirdddddd

The only way that would normally happen is if he a dial up connection.

My fiance got a magic jack for his computer, he was able to get a phone number that is local to where I live, he forwards it to his cell or home phone so I can call from my cell when I'm not home, no roaming or long distance charges. I have unlimited long distance from home but the charges add up on the cell. It was about $50 total, $30 for the software and $20 for the first year of calls, and then plans vary after the first year. Saves alot in long distance for my cell. Happy calling!! :star:

We have an account with with Skype called Skype-To-Go. (http://www.skype.com/allfeatures/togo/)

It's $2.95 a month, and you can call using your cell phone to Canada (unlimited). We just wait until evenings or weekends so we don't use up our cell plan minutes, call the skype-to-go number, and then it asks you to dial the international number you like.

It has been the best option for us.

In Canada though, we have a plan with "Win-tel" for landlines, and its 25cents a call to anyone in Canda or the US, it doesn't matter how long you talk for, its just 25cents a call.

Hope this helps,

--Kerri and Frazell

I have read Magic Jack works really well for some people. We tried it for a few weeks when we got here - it was horrible, poor reception, not working at all - but like I said, I have read reviews from others that like it too - worth a try.

With Majic Jack....you dont need to wait a certain time...yes the reception is bad but we only "call forward" it so its fantastic.
