Nov 6th we had our interview. DH was approved pending his FBI name check. I'm probably jumping the gun since it hasn't been 2 months yet, but I wanted to get some advice anyway. When is it "ok" to look further into the pending name check? What steps should we take when that time frame is up?

"Pending Name-check" can take a few months to a few YEARS to complete, there is not much you can do but wait and perhaps renew your EAD card every year while waiting.

OUR TIME LINE Please do a timeline it helps us all, thanks.

Is now a US Citizen immigration completed Jan 12, 2012.

Sadly, as Dan said, there's nothing you can do but wait. Our interview was in May 2006, and we're still waiting. (Most people are not stuck for this long, I feel I should add, but there's no way to know.) Lots of people have been waiting significantly longer than we have, which is depressing!

Our adjudication officer told us at the interview that there's nothing we can do but wait. Some people contact members of Congress (we did), but all they can do is confirm that the FBI background check is the hold-up. They can't expedite processing. Infopass and phone calls are equally useless. It's just a waiting game and being on top of renewing interim benefits if the application is delayed long enough.

Sorry to be the bearer of frustrating news...
