He wants to know if he got the right police report. He is all nervous about this process too and wants to make sure everything is just right. Does anyone know what the official police report from London looks like? He said his has blue authentication lines on it and it shows whether or not he has ever been prosecuted or arrested on it. Thankfully he has not. Any advice on this would be appreciated. Thanks

~Stacey

Thanks Mark for the quick reply, I will let him know so he will be relieved over the police report matter now, at least the London one anyway, now to the South Korean one...which I hear isn't at all hard to get. Thanks again

hey, Stacey.

May I ask:

Did he need this because he lived in London at one point?

I lived in London for a year when i was 19 so i think i'll have to ask for a police report there once we send and (hopefully) get our K1 visa aproved.

Can I ask you where did he aply for this? I currently live in Holland, so I'd apreciate a site or phone where these certificates have to be requested.

thanx!

Anna

BTW - if you photocopy these the copy comes up with the word FRAUD on it in about 2 places, right across the whole form - I had to copy mine for the interview so seeing that was a bit scary! But its just to prevent people copying them and changing the details - if you have the original with you as well it shouldnt be an issue.

Sames as mine, just looks like a letter, bit of a let down really

And to Anna, yes if youhave lived in another country for 6 months or more then you need a police cert.

I kow that there is a link on here (I think WElshcookie did it) but I just googled New Scotland Yard and took it from there, sent in the request and it was returned in less than 40 days

Congrats  That's a big hurdle to over-come. We were struggling on how Claudeth was going to get her German police report but ended up getting some help here on VJ which, in turn, convinced Claudeth's Aunt to just go to the local police station there! Anyway, another item to check off! :D

Thanx, Munchkins.

Is that the Form 3019 they have the at Met police site? Can I ask you, what type of ID did you send with your request? It says in the form that you can only send originals as identification, and even though they say they send it back, I really don't want to send my passport or drivers license in case it gets lost?

Did you attach a note asking what you needed it for? The form seems a bit vague, so I want to make sure it's the right thing...

And do you (or anyone else) know if you can request one in person at any police station in the UK? I travel to London very often, so i could do it on one of my visits...

thanx!!!

Hi Anna

Yes, he needed this because he lived in London prior to moving to South Korea. There is a website that he got all of the information from, it is www.met.police.uk. He downloaded a pdf form from this site and filled it out, sent notarized copies of his passport and Driver's license proving who he was, a notarized letter stating what his current address was, and a draft in the amount of 10 pounds. I wil attach the document he filled out. He rec'd his report in less than 40 days, I hope this helps...
